The John Fox Mentality. Cmon

Funny, Kordell Stewart WAS their franchise QB, but he didn't pan out. Isn't ironic how this debate is shaping up? Name the HOFers, but pooing on or ommitting the guys that flopped. Very convenient. Remember, Stewart was the next coming of Randell Cunningham? Probably not.

actually the steelers drafted Stewart, who wasn't as talented as Newton and could be had at the end of the 2nd round when Neil O'Donnell was starting, and he could never fully wrangle the starting position from guys such as Mike Tomczak. This despite the fact that they "groomed" him for 2 years and gave him minimal playing time like everybody wants us to do to a project QB in a later round

I know that the Bucs GM said during the combine, that Freeman was their 1st pick no matter where they picked at. Your guy is your guy, no matter what position you pick at. We need a QB, with 3 winning season in 10, something isn't working.

Still a AJ guy (with Smitty most likely on his way out). QB is is my close second choice.

For fug sake some of you are so terrified of failure it's disturbing.

but but but what if it doesn't work out???

we should just take a defensive player even though we already have more talent than SD did on that side of the ball last year where Ron coached them to finish first overall.

One more point, the John Fox metality got us 7 or more wins a season until last year when TOP BRASS cut his nuts off and said deal with it by cutting/releasing/trading a number of still pretty darn good veterans. Were we a playoff team with those guys? Probably not. Would we have won more games than two? Bet the farm on it.

So, 7 wins are what we are shooting for??? Heck, I thought we wanted back to back winning seasons and a Super Bowl or 2...lol. In that case lets just keep doing what we been doing and hoping for a different result. Though I think that is the definition of insanity.

I do remember a 1 (maybe 2) of those 8-8 years, we were playing the other team's back ups in the last game (to get that 8th win), as they already made playoffs. Saints come to mind...

Playing it safe gives us... mediocrity. The years we won was probably due more to last year record and playing lesser teams. Cause when we won, we slumped the next year (when we played stronger teams). That really isn't a "good" thing...

Basically if every GM had ncbobcat, joat, and squirrel's mentality the top ten would consist of only linebackers and halfbacks

Really? Personally I can't stand the thought of having another HOF caliber WR getting 400yds a year. Other than that I agree with your statement.

And wouldn't it be ironic if Newton couldn't wrangle the starting job away from Pickles?

The Cam jock jockies may never see the light of day again from crawling so deep under a rock.

PP is a good to great corner but would you draft Revis or Flacco/Ryan/Freeman if you had to choose. Cmon

AJ Green more youth at a position where we have youth. 3 picks last year at WR and we want to pick another? Cmon.

Let us remember that we all want the same thing. A Super Bowl Championship. We've played it safe for long enough without winning... time to try it another way. Cmon

You want us to draft a 3rd QB in the past 2 years?????? Cmon.......

Nah, the irony is gonna come from the amount of people here who are going to be watching him like a hawk if we don't draft him.

    • I mean that’s not an argument I go with… But in ACC play, both Clemson and SMU covered the spread more than Miami.  Miami didn’t cover in 3 games.
