The John Fox Mentality. Cmon

John Fox is off drinking Coors but his mentality is alive and well in the Carolinas, (and the Huddle). His mentality of "playing it safe" worked only 3 out of the 9 years he was a coach here. 3! That's it. But for some reason we still want to play it safe and not take any chances. Some people seem ok with being 7-9 or 8-8 the majority of the time.

We have a NEW coaching staff with a NEW philosphy who want to dictate games offensively. They want teams to adjust to the Panthers. The "punt is a good play" is no longer the mentality around here.

Mind you I am not against drafting a DT a need position but Dareus = Fairley = Taylor = Austin. All are solid but not special. One can be had of equal talent later on. Cmon

PP is a good to great corner but would you draft Revis or Flacco/Ryan/Freeman if you had to choose. Cmon

AJ Green more youth at a position where we have youth. 3 picks last year at WR and we want to pick another? Cmon.

Let us remember that we all want the same thing. A Super Bowl Championship. We've played it safe for long enough without winning... time to try it another way. Cmon

Same thing can be said about taking a QB. Just throwing that out there.

#1 or #18 they still gambled and took a QB in the first.it just so happens that we have the first pick so if you are high on a prospect you take him. According to Rahiem Morris if they had the 1st pick they would have taken Freeman.

Some people are tired of having a game manger and actually want a QB who can win a game by himself.

You really don't understand the cap do you?

And if he doesn't are you going to pay for my PSLs?
When you get a refund for last year I'll talk to you about paying for your PSL's if Cam doesn't pan out.

lol so 2-14 is ok in ncbobcats book but taking a chance on a franchise QB is out of the question. :banghead:

Bust franchise QBs sets franchises back many years, bust lineman or skill players outside of QB sets back teams only a couple.

I pay for PSLs and I want a winning product. If that means going safe, so be it. I don't want to see a losing product while a rookie QB, especially a raw one like Cam, tries to find his way.

I am also a PSL owner and want a winning product. Unlike you I will be pissed if the Panthers pass AGAIN on another QB in the 1st round for a position player, and that kid goes on to be great for another team while the Panthers are perenial celler dwellers in the NFC South.

My point, how many of those guys were drafted #1 overall? Manning. How many Superbowls does he have? One. It's less of a risk, capwise, to take a QB outside of the top 10. If you have to part ways because of a bust pick, it won't hurt the franchise nearly as bad. The Cam nuthuggers want him #1 overall and given how raw and developmental of a project he is, it's a huge risk monetarily and to the team's prosperity if he doesn't pan out.

And how many 10+ winning seasons in a row and playoff appearances does Manning have??????? I will take what Manning has done and his one Superbowl win ANY DAY of the week. I am not saying Cam is Manning but come on.

No 2-14 isn't okay, but Cam is anything but a given as a franchise QB. Just becasuse you wish it so does not make it so. If we draft Cam and he pans out...great!!! I just don't see it happening. Meanwhile we tread the waters of mediocracy or wrose in the process.

Also you know people don't get refunds on poor products and you not having to pay for PSLs is exactly why the risk is worth it for you. You have ZERO stake in the team. It's monopoly money to you. All you have is team pride on the line which no different than the rest of us.
