Cam Newton Statistically Similar to A Rodgers

the title of your post is "Cam Newton Statistically Similar to A Rodgers"

Perhaps it should be, "in two categories from 6 games, Cam Newton Statistically Similar to A Rodgers", which would be more accurate.

In reality, the play between the two of them was not similar at all.

What Cam Newton did at Auburn was fantastic but it was not at all like what Green Bay did this season.

I wonder what your tune would be if this was actually Blaine Gabberts statistics hmmmm I wonder what your tune would be like if Blaine Gabbert switched stats and records with Cam Newton :auto:

Probably the same as it already is with Blaine Gabbert (hint: I don't want him with the #1 overall), since I don't give a poo about stats or records for a prospect.

I've admitted I'm a Gabbert homer before. It's not like this forum is as full of them as it is Cam Newton homers, so. I still readily admit what I see as Gabbert's flaws.

this wasn't about college stats, it was actually comparing newton's last 6 games to aaron rodgers' 2010 season.

That's comparing college stats.

I didn't even see that at first glance, now this thread has just become ridiculous haha. Comparing a college qb playing against college defenses to an elite nfl qb playing against elite nfl defenses is just....well...why would you do it?

My point is comparing college stats is useless.

Well if I were to argue for Blaine Gabberts sake, then Yes i Agree, But then I would be stuck there because Blaine doesnt have the same skills that Cam Newton has....Well none of the QBs do. So whats your point again?

Gabbert homers don't have to reach at ridiculous stat comparisons to convince themselves and others that Gabbert will be a good nfl starter.

It's funny how people can manipulate stats and find one thing that is similar to someone else and draw a comparison but when you do it in a negative light it's not accepted.

Holy poo you guys are funny

Yup, stats to build up a player. Stats to tear down a player. The system he played in to build him up, the system to tear him down. The conference he played in to build him up, the conference to tear him down.

Nobody will know anything about most any player until he plays in the NFL and then it takes a few years to know for sure if he is worth a damn.

The point is to dismiss that Cam is a run first QB, and that he doesnt have the capacity to run a pro style offense.....He was a pocket passer for all of one year and even in that year his ratio of pass to run against top college talent for 6 games was identical to that of A. Rodgers....These guys are not the same but I found it interesting and impressive

Lol, what "skills"? He has a tad bit bigger arm and runs a little bit faster?

In fact Locker has better skills than Newton if you really want to go into it, faster, bigger arm, and better on the run.

That is because if you look at his college stats they were totally unimpressive. Instead people have to hang their hat on a pro day performance playing pitch and catch. if you went by his college stats he wouldn't be in the first round.

College stats = nfl success. Gotcha.

No it doesn't but for comparison purposes which is what you have at the college level it is important. If you ignore college performances totally then exactly what do you base your decision on? His pro day or combine performance? Ignoring their performance in college which you apparently want to do is ridiculous.
