The debate is Cam vs. Not Cam, not Cam vs. Player X

I am still trying to figure out how or why it matters who any of y'all argue over. Unless one of you is Hurney and somebody else is Rivera. Seems like a lot of words telling me nothing, and why alot (<---for you JOAT ;)) of regulars aren't even posting in the Panther forum anymore.

You must spread rep...

We're bored and want to be right allot of times. LMAO!

I think what the OP is trying to say is, I have tried to start two threads to generate conversation. One about PP and one about Dareus. Both positive.

They cycled through the front page in a couple of hours.

Other guys just don't get the blood flowing like Cam wheter you are a hater ir a hugger. He is just a polarizing guy.

This board is pretty much dictated by 8-10 people, who almost all happen to be in love with Cam Newton. That is why every thread descends in petty squabbles as they are so blindly ignorant to other points of view, that they would rather turn every possible discussion into an argument.

I would love to get a proper discussion going about Gabbert, but those same 8-10 do not want to hear an immediately turn it into a Newton Vs Gabbert arguement. I would love to debate which DT would be most appropriate here, but the same 8-10 people turn it into why pick any position other than QB, aka Cam Newton. Peterson has been swept under the rug and AJ Green written off.

The reason the Newton threads get so heated, is simply because this guy has made some fairly significant mistakes in his life AND has big question marks about his game. Yet point those out and be prepared to be called a 'hater' or 'racist'.

I wonder how long some of these posters will stick around if we don't pick Cam...

SMF is wrong again in his generalizations.

I've been saying Dareus for a while now at 1.

I'm wondering what threads he is reading. I dont consider myself an anti-Cammer, and I wouldnt be disappointed if he is the pick, but I like the defensive side of the ball in the top 10 of this draft with the exception of AJ.

Dareus, Peterson, Fairly, Green and Cam are all worthy of the discussion.

hate him or love him you got to admit cam has been pretty succesfull in college. He won the national championship in junior collage than the next year went on to be the most electrifying collage football player in the nation winning the national championship and breaking many records. Not really endorsing any player just saying wouldnt be dissapointed with cam.

I wouldn't be upset with any pick we make. I'd be skeptical though if we picked Gabbert because he didn't look like he dominated at QB, IMO, but I'd hope for the best just like I did for :Clausen,Moore,Delhomme,Pike,Carr,McCown...you get the picture:(. I would also be slightly skeptical of Dareus because I just don't see him dominating at DT in the NFL, but he definately looks like he'll be solid and play good as a rookie. Peterson I'd be happy with because he's a beast and CB is a hard position to find stars. I dont think they're going to use the pick on Green, but I wouldn't be mad at. I honestly feel our coaches are competent and creative enough to take advantage of Cam's abilities as a duel threat QB. Cam>Peterson>Dareus;)

look at that list again, do you see why I want a quarterback so bad

There is hope: The Panthers actually fielded a playoff-caliber defense in 2010, at least according to the measures we use at ColdHardFootballFacts.com. They were No. 12, for example, in Defensive Passer Rating, our measure of each team's ability to stifle opposing quarterbacks. For some perspective, the 14-2 Patriots were No. 13 in Defensive Passer Rating. The 13-3 Falcons were No. 14 in Defensive Passer Rating. The Panthers were also No. 12 in what we call the Defensive Hog Index, a measure of each team's defensive front. And they were a top 10 unit in run defense, surrendering just 3.94 yards per attempt on the ground last year./ and this is why we do not need defense

It seems to me that Scot, TRD, MAV,CarolinaCatBrigade, have been posting just as much as anyone else. So I think blaming the traffic on huggers is false.

As a matter of fact I am not sure you had a single post in either my Peterson thread or my Dareus thread. So I guess you actually don't really care that much.

Why don't you stop blaming all your message board problems on Huggers and quit questioning their allegiances and maybe you would get a little bit farther with your mission.

Otherwise just leave until April 29th if it bothers you so much.

Anybody else find it interesting that the anti-Cam crowd has been unable to rally around a player to challenge Cam for the #1 pick spot? All they do is bitch and moan about how picking Cam will be the end of the world, but every alternative player they trot out is quickly crushed and laughed and booed off the stage. Nobody's gained any traction at all throughout the whole process because of how bad the arguments have been for actually drafting someone else.

Any anti-Cammer want to try and explain why you guys haven't been able to come up with an alternative player other than the non-existent NotCam that can't be drafted?

Probably because there are several players who could be better picks. You're right it's not about taking Cam vs taking Player X. It's about taking a guy not worth the #1 Pick vs. Someone who is or at least has the best chance of success at the NFL level.

We need someone who can contribute immediately. Not some epic project/save the franchise/epic black hero/let's all get along/sell tons of tickets prospect. We are not that desperate and we are not that far off.
