YAS: Panthers need to take Cam Newton

He has to be able to get us there before he can win it. The days where "good Jake" can do that are over. The "worst" QB in the league I can imagine taking his team to a Super Bowl would be Matt Schaub, Jay Cutler, or Eli Manning - I consider all of those guys to be at around the same level. Obviously Eli's won his ring, but with a LOT of help from his defense in one of the biggest upsets of all time.

Having said that, there are 13 QB's in the league right now that I feel are capable of getting their team to a Super Bowl (with or without a little help from the defense/running game):

01. Peyton Manning

02. Tom Brady

03. Aaron Rodgers

04. Drew Brees

05. Philip Rivers

06. Ben Roethlisberger

07. Matt Ryan

08. Tony Romo

09. Josh Freeman

10. Eli Manning

11. Jay Cutler

12. Matt Schaub

13. Mike Vick

And out of those 12 names I'd say maybe the top 7-8 are capable of leading their team to a Super Bowl AND winning it with their arm the way Rodgers did this year for GB. Now, that obviously leaves off a few young players who may be soon joining the list, but you get the idea.

So first you say Eli needed major help from he defense, then you say he can lead his team to a Superbowl without help from his defense. How does that work? Schaub, what was his record this year without help from his defense?
