YAS: Panthers need to take Cam Newton

Imagine if you had Mike Vick and the Jets D. You might actually win Super Bowls instead of claiming you will every year and then falling short.

You'd essentially have what Rex's father had with the Eagles and Randall Cunningham.

That combo didn't win a Super Bowl either though.

Their defense is solid, but far from special. Rodgers was by FAR the key to their SB run/win.

You are joking right?

They were a top 2 defense. Without a defensive TD, they lose. When Woodson goes off the field, the Steelers make their run.

This is shocking to hear, even from you

While Rodgers may have been the single most important player, as a unit the defense was better than the offense over the course of the year and just as important in their Super Bowl run was the feeling I got. The D made some gigantic plays and they wouldn't have won it all with anything less than the top 5 defense they had.

edit: wait, weren't they actually ranked #2 behind... wait for it... the Steelers? would have to check rankings, don't remember, but I KNOW they were at least top 5.

Steelers Packers were 1-2 in most categories or 2-1 ;)

Waits for someone to point out that in 3rd down rushing draw plays handed off to the second string running back in temperatures below 53 degrees the Packers were actually the 12 ranked defense so yeah they sucked and it was all A Rod

Ouit of all those outstanding draft choices out there

do you think Gabbert or Newton are the best?? NO WAY

Many better and more NFL(safer) picks out there. Go with DAREUS

you will get more bang for your buck over the long haul.

Play Clausen at least one more year before writing him off.

Gabbert is still better then Newton from an NFL ready viewpoint but

both would have to be developed. I'd go Dareus and then Gabbert.

Safer gets you 8-8 unless there is a unanimous number 1 pick. Gabber is a game manager a best. I go with the Pick with the most upside and biggest reward.

The spacing on your posts is annoying. :)

How do you know Gabbert is a game manager at best?
