Then Ben Roethlisberger is not a rapist and OJ Simpson and Ray Lews are not murderess. Got it.

Big Ben might not be a rapist. Athletes can be fooled by the vagina it happens to the best of us and there are some shady bitches out there ask Kobe and Tiger. OJ? you never know could've been set up. Ray Lewis I didn't pay too much attention to that case so I don't know but he was found not guilty so:)

No.

Sanchez type with a strong run game and a nasty D would be fine by me. It's not like Big Ben would have sniffed the playoffs without LeBeau and several HoF'ers on the Steeler's roster.

@daringantt Yes, you've established this. Also, brace yourself for disappointment. RT @Joat1977 (re: mock). As long as Newton isn't the pick I'm happy.

if there is one thing that rex ryan is not, it's john fox.

Mediocre QB with strong running game and great defense. Sounds like Foxball to me. This idea of winning with defense is simply outdated. The Steelers got to the Super Bowl with a strong defense... and it got torn to pieces by Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' aggressive passing offense once it got there.

It used to be that a good defense would almost always beat a good offense. Now, with all the rule changes that favor the offense - and in particular the passing game - a good QB will almost always win out when faced with a good defense. This last Super Bowl was a perfect example.

Does the fact that the Steelers have such a good defense have as much to do with their success as Big Ben? Yes. But the defense couldn't have done it all by itself. Who lead that game-winning drive against Arizona when Kurt Warner & Larry Fitzgerald had just torched the Steelers defense? Yes, Ben was horrible in his first Super Bowl against Seattle and the defense and running game won that one, but think back to the AFC divisional playoffs against the Colts... Ben was spectacular in that game, just as he was the next week against Denver in the AFC title game.

The elite teams today have BOTH good defense AND a franchise QB. I'm more than confident Rivera can bring our D up to that level, but I'm afraid we'll be little more than a fringe playoff team at BEST unless we find that guy who can be our franchise QB. Is Cam that guy? Nobody knows the future, so even though I've said he will be, the truth is I don't know he will be anymore than the anti-Cam folks know that he won't be. But what I do know is that he has the potential to be and that he's the ONLY QB in this draft that does.

As Yas says, we lost out on the Andrew Luck sweepstakes, and next year is only a hypothetical at this point. We don't KNOW anything for sure. What we do know is that there's a QB sitting right in front of us right now who has the potential to be our franchise guy. Does he also come with a lot of risk? Absolutely, but it's a risk I feel we should take because the potential reward is so high (finally having that guy at QB) that we just can't ignore it.

Mark Sanchez is the Jets' franchise guy. You don't need to be elite to be a franchise QB. The Jets will be building around Sanchez for the foreseeable future. They believe they can win with him.

He sometimes makes throws when it counts, but its usually YAC.....he has an abysmal 46.4 passer rating in the 4th quarter

He leans on that sweet Jets D

Honestly his stats are average at best. Without that defense the jets would be a 7-9 team last year. He is not a franchise quarterback right now either. He is a game manager who doesn't screw the game up.

He may be "their" franchise QB, but he's not "a" franchise QB. And they'll never win a Super Bowl with Sanchez at QB unless he finally makes that leap into top-10 territory the media seem to have him poised for every preseason.

But playing at his current level, the only reason they've gotten to two AFC title games is because of their defense, which I think everyone will admit is great. They could do worse, sure, but Sanchez is more of a liability to that team than anything.
