Racism Quiz

I thought the media as a whole is on Cam's nuts, just people(media scouts) who try to break down every aspect of someone's game is going to find more flaws, that is their job. The QB position is the most important of any in all of sports. So gather as much info on those players as possible, and compare the conceived good with the conceived bad. Any way you look at it, calling racism is the easy, lazy way out. Pretty much all the QB's in this draft suck so get over it.

different in the house though with different parents. If you can't be reasonable enough to admit there's a tad bit of racism towards Cam in the media then there's obviously some common sense missing. How can you be raised around black people all your life but fail to see the racist bias

I don't see any racism towards Cam in the media. I think he did some bad things in the past and is having to answer those questions now. He didn't play in the best offense in the past so he's also going to hear those questions now.

You can't say he hasn't made some questionable decisions in his life that need to be discussed and accounted for. If you think it's racist they are asking those questions, that's your right I guess but everything I've seen said about him can be traced back to one of his actions in the past.

Like I said, if he had just went to class, played football, won, then declared for the draft, no one would question his character or call him a thug. They would focus on his football related issues. Unfortunately he does have that history and he is in consideration for the top pick and a huge paycheck, teams will do digging and investigate everything.

Pat White was never called a thug

I am not or have never said that racism does not exist in the world and even in the NFL.

I will say that I believe that Time The Golden Calf of Bristol's ability to transition to the NFL was questioned just as much as Cam's.

Now, are there people out there who don't like Cam or don't want him to succeed because he is black....absolutely.

However, I am not one of those. I have big questions about Cam transitioning in the NFL just like I had about The Golden Calf of Bristol.....and don't think he is worth the risk at #1. I don't think Gabbert/Mallett/Ponder or any other "white QB" in this draft is worth the #1 pick as well.

I hate giving Pep supporters pi,but oh well. I should have waited for the Hatter's post, damnit.

I agree though, NO QB is worth the #1 overall in this draft.

No QB might not be #1 overall, but this team has to select a QB in this draft. They cannot afford to sit on their hands and pray a franchise QB is coming to them. That's what got this team in the sorry state that they're in right now.

WARREN MOON NEVER ACCUSED NAWROCKI OF BEING RACIST. WHERE ARE YOU GETTING THIS FROM? THAT IS WHY THIS THREAD IS POINTLESS AND YOU ARE PURPOSELY SPINNING IT TO MISLEAD PEOPLE ABOUT THE ACTUAL ARTICLE ABOUT WHAT MOON SAID.

From the article...

A lot of the criticism he’s receiving is unfortunate and racially based,” Moon told Freeman. “I thought we were all past this. I don’t see other quarterbacks in the draft being criticized by the media or fans about their smile or called a phony. He’s being held to different standards from white quarterbacks. I thought we were past all this stuff about African-American quarterbacks, but I guess we’re not.

But I'm sure he didn't mean for that to be directed at Nolan Nawrocki

You can blame the owner for that. If he fired Fox last year and hired a new coach, and gave him the players he needed for his system, we would have likely been better.

that's what I'm saying along with a few others. Not everyone picking at Cam is racist, but we can tell there is a some. That's all I want people to realize. I'm kind of skeptical as how he will handle being the pick, but I personally feel his past issues aren't alarming enough for me to pass on his potential. The guys that slam Newton with no valid reason with insults and stereotypes are the ones that are being considered racially motivated. For some posters to feel the need to defend them so hard without trying to look at it from the other side are the others I question. I'd defend a white person just as hard if the shoe was on the other foot.

Mallett?

fortunately for Mallet his allegations aren't serious to gain national media attention all day everyday. The world is concerned with the war on stolen laptops and test cheating not drugs:rolleyes: McGay and Kiper still think he's a top QB and should in the 1st. No reports about him being a con artist so no need to defend him.

You confuse lack of discussion on this board with lack of media attention.

So you let drug allegations fly unchecked, even talk about them yourself, but defend less serious accusations.

You said, and I quote, "I'd defend a white person just as hard if the shoe was on the other foot."

Defend.
