I'm one of the people who wanted PP7 #1 overall.. this kind of changes things to me. If the allegations are true, then I'm not sure if I want PP7. My #2 is a tie between Green and Dareus. A shame since he's such an athletic freak. Regardless, We don't f*ck up on first rounders so I'm happy with whoever (as long as it's not Newton)

Why would this change anything? Whether he took money or not, he is still the same player that he was a week ago and he is gonna get paid in the NFL anyway, so what's the problem?

Those are GA and Bama boys.....it ain't like the odds favor them not recieving something they shouldn't of either.

I realize that toast has more moral and ethical fiber than some people on this board, so I don't expect you to get this. Do you want the face of your franchise to be someone who can be bought? Someone who cheats and then lies about it--to the Panthers? Character is important--or haven't you been paying attention.

Just because you think it happens all the time does not mean that everyone does it. You seem to thrive on the risk more than anything else.

If you lied on an interview about your past and the potential employer knew about it and hired you anyway, what signal does that send? No, I don't think successful businesses are run that way. Say it isn't a big deal if you want, but it is. Again, I don't expect everyone to understand this, because not all people value character.

how many all time greats do you think broke NCAA rules? how many of the games current top tier players broke NCAA rules?

I think it is naive to assume it isn't a very good percentage of guys. If you are going to be a professional sports team then you can't dwell on those things.

I've got some news for you...every single one of these players are being "bought" by the NFL. They don't get to choose where they go, the teams choose them, and then they pay them to play football, not to be choir boys.

For crying out loud, there have been murderers, rapists and wife beaters who were still allowed to play in the NFL, and you're worried about whether some poor kid took some money that was offererd to him?

If you really want to get on your high horse and condemn people, then you should start with the boosters and agents who are paying these kids in the first place. Don't blame the kid who grew up poor and took the money because he never had any growing up.

yeah, I don't want a kid that took some money to play in college (a flawed system as the athletes aren't allowed to work yet are expected to get by).

Lets go get some players that didn't take money but will punch teammates in face when they are expecting it....they will assualt there own teammates 2 and reportedly 3 times. They type that will kick an opponent in the head while down on the ground. We are all cool with that.

It would have been a 3 way tie at the top for me otherwise. Peterson was the cleanest, safest pick so I had him at top. It certainly affects my ranking in someway.. I just don't know how anymore. I just want the draft to come already... He is still cleaner than the other guys though. I really want this season's defense to be straight up dominant for when we take a QB next year. Jake Delhomme wouldn't have been able to come in for '03 if the '02 defense didn't happen.

Why would an NFL team care about this?

Because it brings up a character concern.

Enough of one to downgrade him? That depends on the team.

For the Panthers? If it can be shown that he knew about it, I'd say yes. And I really hate that because Peterson was my top choice :(

not sure if the Panthers heard the rumors about Peppers when he was coming out. I used to hear alot about the UNc players getting paid and watching Joe Forte and Peppers rocking platinum chains and pushing range rovers down franklin street. I don't think it affects players unless theyre asked and lie about it.

So because he is loyal to LSU and doesn't want to get them in trouble, that means he has bad character? And don't tell me that these interviews are 100% private and confidential, because there are things leaked out all the time that happen in those interviews, not to mention the wonderlic scores and drug test failures.

Believe me, these GM's and coaches may talk a lot about character, but at the end of the day they just want to win football games so they can keep getting paid. This is nothing.
