Yes, he's better at RT but it's not as though his pass blocking can't improve. His pass blocking was decent as a rookie and it's only going to get better. Plus, he'd have the benefit of playing next to a better guard on the left side (Wharton).

Of course, keeping Gross is still the best option, as long as his demands aren't too unreasonable.

I think they're trying to sign Gross for as little as possible before the 19th, so they can safely tag Peppers without giving even more leverage to Gross. Just the possibility of another tag might allow us to get Gross for a little less.

IMO, time is too short for that. We'd have to rely on Peppers and his agent to make a quick deal and I doubt that would happen in time. Plus once you tag Peppers before you've signed Gross then you've lost everything as far as options and Gross would have us so much further over the barrel that it's likely we'd drown. Gross has to be signed first or we have to tag him, again IMO.

I agree, but the fact we tagged him last year and still have not worked out a long term deal is a huge concern. If we tag him this year and still dont get a deal done, we cant get anything for him next year like we can get for Peppers this year. I would assume that the FO figures if they cant get the deal done with Gross by now, it may never happen and let him test FA. Its still a possibility we can sign him even then, but a lot of competition and huge risk with that. We are not in good position right now.

Probably not.

However, we can make enough moves to create enough room to franchise Peppers and retain Gross before the 27th comes around.

What ever, if they let either one of these guys walk I think Marty Hurney should be right behind him. It is rediculous to be in this position!
