"One of them has to go to Carolina at #1" Mayock on QBs

You can't judge any player based on a handful of games, especially looking at last season as a whole. Kurt Warner had 10 touchdown passes from 2002-2004, then had 83 his last three seasons and nearly won a second ring. No, I'm not comparing Warner to Matt Moore, I'm just saying.

I didn't

I just didn't think all the spoils of the glorious 4-1 run we had belonged to him

if moore's presence refreshed Peppers so much how come he didn't just stay here instead of going to Chicago and joining Cutler?

LOL don't you think you are reaching here, even for you?

You must be guessing because we had over 100 more attempts than a few of those teams

We had 525 attempts, the only other two to break 500 were Miami and Cincy

Team Att YPG

Miami 509 139

Cincy 505 129

Cleveland 498 130

Pitt 428 112

Atl 451 117

NYG 443 114

Oak 410 106

Jax 447 127

So the teams that were almost as run heavy as us, had about the same averages as us, slightly less as you'd expect. No one else really comes close in attempts

Pitt made me laugh, as well as oakland. You think they are as run heavy as us with more than 100 attempts less?

lol yes teams adjust their offensive philosophies completely every year

So he only averaged @ 12.5 yards per completion and usually that included a bomb or two to Smitty. He just didn't have many completions in the intermediate. Part of that was the offense but part of that was him not making good throws there.

We will see (I think) but I am not as convinced as you are this offense is a better fit.

What do you think the league average is? Where do you think the top guys fall?

I haven't looked

I know his YPA was pretty good

His body of work was pretty good before last season. Since everyone wants to say "last year our situation sucked, no QB would have success, blah blah" I wouldn't consider last year a test. I think a QB deserves a consistent season before you determine whether they are franchise material. 13 games in 3 seasons? IMO we really don't have a clear picture how good or bad Moore is.

Even his good games aren't that great though. He didn't look good in any preseason. He didn't look good in most of his playing time he has gotten except a couple at the end of 2009. He has had time to prove himself. Last year wasn't the only chance he has had. He won some games when he was a rookie but again he didn't set the world on fire in those games (not that he should have).

Hopefully he will get yet another shot this year but if you can't get it done in the preseason over 4 seasons why would you think he is suddenly going to be great against the first teamers??

But again hopefully he will get one more shot.

Honestly I am not sure. I am talking YPC not YPA. But it could be league average. W/O my computer it is tough to look this crap up.

Only one person in the top 15 had a better YPC and that was Rivers at 12.8 so does that change your opinion?

Manning was at 11.2

Brady was at 11.3

Breez was at 11.5

This is also the first time he's gotten to play with "first teamers" and it's a stretch calling what we had in preseason this year that.

Considering our starting WR have been suspect over the years, how good do you expect the backups to be?

Also factor in Dwill and Stew absence from the second team and it gets clearer

so because we're only talking about 2009 that means that none of those teams are running teams

ok got it

No it means in the year we are talking about, no one that had similar attempts to us put up far inferior rushing numbers.

You tried to argue that it was other wordly at 140/game even though the two closest teams in attempt also put up similar numbers.

After that, no one came close in attempts thus no one was as run heavy as us that year.

It's not that complicated

    • Film Room Playlist _ NFL Pro — Mozilla Firefox 2024-11-25 10-20-11.mp4 🎯🎯🎯 There were a couple of "fans" yesterday saying that this wasn't a helmet-to-helmet shot... 👀 Looks like based on where Moore was and where the play ended, he'd have gotten maybe just a yard or two more. Chuba was downed at the KC 16 and Moore was on his way back to the QB, so the offense got what they could for the most part. After reviewing the all-22, Bryce made the right call here. Tremble was the hot and KC sent both LBs. He gets it out with a clear pocket but it's quickly collapsing. If there was a little more time it looked like AT came free at the end but whether or not Bryce would've been upright still is another story. Smart move to get the completion and keep the field goal in play to stay alive. George Karlaftis is about to get himself a big ole hug and Bryce heaves it to where David Moore is going. Trent McDuffie slipped just a step or two before this shot, but we can see the clear DPI here as he's wrapped around David Moore before knocking him over as the ball gets there.
    • I’m taking a TE early day 3 Ian Thomas and Tremble are FA.  We should have no desire to bring them back.   There’s more than enough film of ball bouncing off their hands or facemask.
    • Daniel Jones sometimes would sling it for 300 or 400 yards.  That's my stance.  We know what Bryce is.  If you consistently play any QB at this level, they largely are going to end up w/ some good days/games.  last time Mahomes was at BOA, Teddy Bridgwater threw for 300+ yards and a couple TDs and the Matt Rhule Panthers almost took him down.  We know what Bryce is.  Now we got people predictably falling into a predictable trap.
