"One of them has to go to Carolina at #1" Mayock on QBs

don't worry nobody else realizes there are more than 2 other teams that try

Who else is that run heavy?

Ravens averaged 138 a game and had a better defense than ours but no one discredits Flacco

It's pretty crazy you are going this hard to discredit someone who rallied the team and played well.

What did you expect from him in 2009? You wanted him to do more? What would have made you happy?

I actually don't disagree with this. He is better than Clausen IMO and if we are bent on sitting a new QB if we get one and the rfa tags hold up I could see him starting next year. I just don't think he is a long term solution just bc he had two good games and 3 okay ones in 2009 when we were already busted.

But you are convinced he can't be a franchise QB based on 2 games he played before being benched this year?

He executed the gameplan he was given by Fox to near perfection. You can't ask much more from him.

With a new offensive scheme that seems to fit his talents better, it would seem to me that he will again look like a good NFL QB.

Plus he's only 26 so it's not like he's at the end of his run.

I hope so. I am not as sure that the new offense will fit him better. He throws well deep but actually struggles in the intermediate range (15-20) with his accuracy IMO.

But I think he could be our starter next year. I hope you are right.

Guys I watched Moore in college somewhat. Now I think that he has what it takes. I saw that one game he played against that USC defence, he was as efficient as you could be and he had poise. The guy just looks like he has "it" on the field. Forget about 2010, we had no chance from the start with no vets.

The dig to Smitty/Moose was his bread and butter

Same with the skinny post

Not sure where you got that

He's usually inaccurate early probably due to nerves but he usually settles in nicely

His body of work is much larger than the two games last year and the 5 games in 2009. And it is from his entire body of work that leads me to believe he woll never be a franchise QB.

Flacco was the missing piece Baltimore had been waiting for years to get. With him they've won 4 playoff games in just 3 years, and Flacco really needs to learn how to beat the Steelers defense

i just want to know why does matt moore seem to be the only x-factor you consider which made us 4-1, because I think the run game kicked up and so did the defense at that same time. It doesn't make him the future of this team.

I don't think he's the only factor, but our run game was good all year. I think it was a morale boost for the whole team getting new life breathed into them and you could see it in the way Peppers responded to Moore and interacted with him.

The whole team played better when he was in there and he was the only change in the lineup so you can't completely discredit his presence either.

Aside from this year, he's been average to good in all of his performances so to me it's weird that you say that.

I think it's too early to tell with him but he has shown flashes of greatness

His body of work was pretty good before last season. Since everyone wants to say "last year our situation sucked, no QB would have success, blah blah" I wouldn't consider last year a test. I think a QB deserves a consistent season before you determine whether they are franchise material. 13 games in 3 seasons? IMO we really don't have a clear picture how good or bad Moore is.

I didn't

I just didn't think all the spoils of the glorious 4-1 run we had belonged to him

if moore's presence refreshed Peppers so much how come he didn't just stay here instead of going to Chicago and joining Cutler?

Obviously I don't have video bit I can say mathmatically in his 5 good games he had:

14 com for 161 yards

15 com for 197 yard

21 comp for 299 yards

15 com for 170 yards

14 com for 163 yards

So he only averaged @ 12.5 yards per completion and usually that included a bomb or two to Smitty. He just didn't have many completions in the intermediate. Part of that was the offense but part of that was him not making good throws there.

We will see (I think) but I am not as convinced as you are this offense is a better fit.

miami cincy cleveland pittsburgh atlanta the giants oakland jacksonville

You must be guessing because we had over 100 more attempts than a few of those teams

We had 525 attempts, the only other two to break 500 were Miami and Cincy

Team Att YPG

Miami 509 139

Cincy 505 129

Cleveland 498 130

Pitt 428 112

Atl 451 117

NYG 443 114

Oak 410 106

Jax 447 127

So the teams that were almost as run heavy as us, had about the same averages as us, slightly less as you'd expect. No one else really comes close in attempts

Pitt made me laugh, as well as oakland. You think they are as run heavy as us with more than 100 attempts less?
