Tyrod Taylor

I dont see the point. Right now we have 2 developmental QB's on the roster. we dont need a third. The only reason we should draft a QB is if we think they can come in and start right away like Flacco or Ryan. Thats why I think the only QB's we should consider are Gabbert and Newton (even though I really dont think we should even consider Newton)

Would anyone be down with the Panthers taking a shot at Tyrod? NFL.com has him compapred to Vick, and NFLN said hes actually the most accurate passer in the draft, and the fastest qb...Could be a late steal or be the next Tavaris Jackson...thoughts?

Nope. another dual threat athlete that was a gimmick QB in college trying to change the NFL and will bust like the rest.

I wish the Panthers could take Tyrod Taylor, but unfortunately I couldn't see taking him unless he was still out there in the 7th (and I don't see that happening).

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Eagles scoop him up to develop under Vick.

Unlike Newton, he was in a Pro Offense. about 60-40 Run-Pass too. He had virtually forever in the pocket sometimes based on defenses being afraid of his ability to scramble. VT vs UNC game and the ACC Championship game as well as the game against Nebraska from last year demonstrate this very well. Taylor's got a better feel for when to jet than Newton right now. If this guy was 6'2 or 6'3, he'd be higher on people's boards (especially when he did better or tied with Newton on every measurable at the combine). I don't think calling him a gimmick QB is very accurate. He was a Steve Young type pocket passer who could buy time outside of the pocket while trying to make a throw.

From all the information we have gathered on what type of offense Carolina will run, I don't really think TT would be the ideal fit. If we run a similar offense to SD then we would need a QB who is able to throw deep often and I really don't think TT has the arm strength.

I wonder if that is why they are potentially looking at Newton over Gabbert, because of his arm strength
