I'm just supporting him for depth, not the starting DT or anything. You have to admit he is a whole lot better than Darwin Walker/Nick Hayden.

If he just gave him a one year contract, with a low salary, I see no reason to not try him out. If he fails out in camp, or isn't cutting the mustard, we can just release him before the season anyway.

I certainly don't think it would be a wasted effort to try him out, for cheap especially.

It's not a bad idea in my opinion, as long as it's as low-priced depth, which is what Hdevonxz had in mind. That said, the fact that the defense is going younger this year might work against this notion.

As mentioned, we don't have a true NT on the team other than Kemo. When he went down this year, the D scheme didn't get adjusted well. Granted, Trgo's gone, but just as a practical matter I'd like to have one more 'wide body' on the depth chart somewhere.
