Any golfers here?!

Find yourself a "Play It Again Sports" store or a "Golf USA" that takes trade-ins. You'd be surprised what's on the market for cheap.

The driver is the most difficult club in the bag to hit and you use it 14 times per round max on a standard par 72 course. You'll probably putt at least 14 times on the first 6 holes- so take a guess what you really need to be proficient at to succeed in golf. As the saying goes, "Drive for show and putt for dough."

But if you are looking for a driver, find one that suits your eye at address. If you're not comfortable with the way the club looks while it sits behind the ball, you'll never hit it well. I've never been able to hit Callaway drivers, but I love my TaylorMade.

Once you get all the sticks, hit the range and start practicing. Go with a plan, don't just get a bucket and start hitting balls. Work on your driver and woods one day, your long irons another and your short irons and wedges yet another. Adjust your swing, stance and alignment accordingly if you're consistently hitting shots with the same un-desired results.

I was in need of a new set, but turned to Craigslist and found a complete set with random additional clubs like a driving iron, an extra pitching wedge, etc, plus the guy threw in the bag, plus a poo load of golf balls, tees, etc. They've worked great for me so far.

Craigslist is where you should look - they got hookers on there too.

I found a set of Adams XTD irons for around $120. they're not great, but they're a massive improvement over what I have.

A few paychecks after I start my summer job I'm going sell these and get a really nice set of Mizuno irons.
