Any golfers here?!

Getting to be that time of year where the weather will be perfect for some golfing!

I've always golfed but it was always just something to waste time with at the driving range for some fun. Really started to get into it in the past couple years(took a golf class in college and became hooked). I'm not great it at, but I've gotten to the point where I no longer slice every other shot!

Turning 21 next week too and I'm gonna be getting some new clubs. Any recommendations for a good(and cheap, around the $200 range) driver?

Ditto.

If you are an amateur and suck (like me), a $200 driver and a ping putter will not help your game. I would recommend picking up a nice set of quality, broken in clubs to develop your game with and learn how to handle the stick.

It's comparable to when a person is interested in buying a bike. If you have zero experience with a crotch rocket, it is foolish - and deadly - to guy buy a R6 as your first one. You need to make a transition smoothly.

Yeah at the moment I'm using a set my dad gave me a few years ago. It's not a bad set, but it's kind of cheap. I'm doing fine with them but it is very obvious it's outdated. My driver broke and I'd rather go get a new(or used) driver rather than dropping $50 to replace the shaft.

So Dicks sporting goods has a good selection? I was at golfgalaxy yesterday and it seemed they had a nice selection of used clubs. I was thinking about buying the Titleist 909D2. It was used but it looks like it was in good shape.

I'm a huge fan of Mizuno. I have a 350cc Blue Rage (I know, I really need a 460) that I still knock about 300-330.

Mizuno is a huge risk/reward driver though. It's got a sweet spot that shows up on some electron microscopes, but that little forgiveness if great because it trains all the mistakes out of you.

a 2 or 3 year old driver should do everything you need it to. I disagree with new stuff won't make your game better mind you, the technology in clubs these days is amazing, although the step change in the span of a couple years probably isn't worth enough for us hackers!!!

that being said, I have a R7 Quad and a Ping in the bag you can have real cheap...but you got to come and get it!!!
