My dad was a confirmed racist. Was a huge disappointment to him that I wasn't.

Funny. I stood at the funeral of a close friend, weeping because he died way too young (32) and it occurred to me how disappointed my father would have been to see me standing there mourning a dead black man.

He wasn't a black man to me though. He was just a man, and he was my friend :(

(I still miss him)

i get that. my dad cried uncontrollably when I answered him as to why I hadn't brought the new girl around. I answered him with a very blunt, "she's black". His beliefs are wrong I know, but it hurt to see him like that. He was relieved when I stopped seeing her.

I know this poll is not serious so whatever but i will say this i have lost respect for alot of posters on here cause of the racist undertone of some of their posts.

i really meant for it to be serious to show KT how wrong he is. I don't dislike the guy, but if Cam becomes a panther he won't have any reason to post anymore.

I understand.

Funny thing. On the majority of jobs I've worked, the person I've sat next to, and the person who wound up being my closest "office friend" has been a black girl. Came pretty close to dating one, but didn't, and that decision had more to do with her being a coworker than her being black.

On my latest job, I have my fair share of flirtatious co-workers. The ones that tend to flirt with me the most? You guessed it

I like to say it's me doing my part for race relations :D

oreo is a racist term referring to a child of one black and one white parent. please refrain from using it.

Context. If I want Oreos and milk, I am clearly referring to the cookie. Also, with it capitalized, I am assuming that is what you meant.

All jokes aside, racism is stupid and pointless. If you REALLY believe that any one race is superior to another, you're a moron. Actually, come to think of it, I don't think race was ever really an issue for me until 9th grade. I started talking to a black girl and my mom somehow found out. Cut that off real quick. Had no problem with my black guy friends coming over though. I guess interracial dating is more of my folk's problem. I firmly believe, once white kids stop believing their parents about racist BS, you will see racism plummet. Of course, I could be wrong (sadly).

Racism isn't a reflection of a person as much as it is a reflection of one's upbringing. Most people's parents and everybody's grandparents were around when racism was big in this country. Our goal is to teach the next generation that racism is wrong and stupid. Alabama won't get the memo though. :(
