It started within the last 5 years or so I think... I know all about it because my 15y.o. just got his permit.

(((hugs))) I hope your nerves are better than mine. My child scared me to death the first few months. I still need to take something for nausea when I ride with him.

Yeah, mine is too nervous... I think he's actually regressed a little lately, which is partly our fault, he hasn't had a chance to drive as much as I would have liked. I try very hard to be patient with him... it's hard for me to explain how to do certain things... driving just came naturally to me.

That's good news... i can't believe that they were being so harsh due to an illness.

I'm an educator. You won't believe how many students try to pull the "I was sick" excuse and werent really sick, just skipping. We've got all sorts of people breathing down our necks about accountability, etc. 9 times out 10 the administration just needs documentation and they'll reverse the failure. Without documentation, our hands are tied.

Oh I'm sure the excuses are rampant... but (and sunbunny will have to confirm this) I'm pretty sure she told us before that the school was giving them a hard time even with all the docs.

I believe it. And what pisses me off about it the most is the double standards. They'll fail you for attedance, but I can't give the kid the grade they earned because they don't want the kids at school failing.

Anyways, thats a topic for the tinderbox. I'm glad they let the boy pass.

Oh yeah, my wife's a teacher, I hear you... but you're right, not a discussion for this thread.
