The best thing too do for the QB position is still bring in a VET.

Not any options that truly impress.

Let's talk farve out of retirement! (More realistic than brown trading palmer)

Bulger is trash.

Mcnabb would be the best option, but he probably wouldn't even end up here.

All other options would end up struggling to even win the starting job.

That sure would be some major improvement!

QB Vet/mentor = overrated

We pay QB coaches a poo ton of money to do their job of coaching up QBs. Plus like TRD said 9/10 of those guys just come in and do their own work. Most vets coild give a poo about a young QB.

You guys really don't understand the importance of veteran leadership and mentoring of young players.

After what we saw last season with no vet leadership, one would think that comprehending this is not as difficult as you are making it.

Came out of hiding huh? I knew you couldn't resist stalking my every post

Ha, well considering you make about 15% of all the posts on here, stalking is absolutely impossible.

With regards to whether or not I think Moore is better than anyone, sure. I don't think he's good enough to start a game. I'd pick him over dozens of QBs but I would feel pretty bad hearing his name coming out of the tunnel.

Colt McCoy will say otherwise with his praise for Jake helping him get better. :D

Jake still can't play at a high level. Try again please.

And to Madhatter, just because last season was shitty and we had no vet QB, doesn't mean the two are related. There injuries, coaching, youth in other positions, etc that played a role.

And I think you overstate the importance of these vets. Vets don't want to mentor anyone. They want to play football. As they should. They aren't going to hold some rookies hand and teach them how to take their job.

What would you think if your boss hired someone new, brought him to your desk, and said, "this is the new guy. For the next year I want you to train him. If you do a good enough job then hopefully I will be able to fire you next year?"

You would be pissed. NFL world is no different.

People last year that were criticizing JR for cutting all of the vets on the team are now the same one's saying that vet leadership is over rated.

Geesh....talk about not getting it.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
