The best thing too do for the QB position is still bring in a VET.

I just don't see that guy out there now

we didn't see that guy prior to 2003, the Rams didn't see that guy when they brought Warner in......sometimes it pays off just being able to call on a guy that has been around the block.

Marc Bulger, Billy Volek, Kerry (no way in hell it would happen but he would be the best) Collins, Chad Pennington and Matt Hasselbeck (if he is willing too not be handed the job and will compete and if he lose not be a asshole about it and help the starter).

It wasn't just who is old, it was who could still play at a high level.

Bulger is debatable, Volek has never done it consistently, Collins is debatable in terms of mentor and ability, Pennington might never be able to throw a football again, and Hasselbeck doesn't seem like he wants to help anyone and already said he wants to go to a winning team.

Next batch please

In respong to

Marc Bulger- I would definitely take Marc Bulger. If he could just get back to his 2003 where he had 37 touchdown passes, then he would be a good pick up.

Billy Volek- Volek has no idea what it feels like to win, he is a career back up at best.

Kerry Collins- Collins is not the type of guy I would want teaching our young guys because the guys he is supposed to be teaching or "was" supposed to be teaching don't turn out to well ala Vince Young.

Chad Pennington- He will never be the same as the old Chad do to his injury.

Matt Hasselbeck- He would be the best option but he is realistically unattainable.

In Conclusion, if we could get Marc Bulger I think the Panthers could end up salvaging a season with him as the starter for a year teaching Clausen. That would leave us room to go with Dareus at #1 and possibly even anchor down the DT position by signing Amobi Okoye.

You realize that will be at least 8, possibly 9 seasons ago right?

I understand that, I am not as naive or unintelligent as you believe me to be. I was simply pointing out that Bulger has been capable of putting of gaudy numbers before. For the sake of an argument, I will list his stats from his career. They are not near as bad as any other career back up and on top of that he is most likely the best option available.

2009- 5 TD's, 6 Int's

2008- 11 TD's, 13 Int's

2007- 11 TD's 15 Int's

2006- 24 TD's, 8 Int's

2005- 14 TD's, 9 Int's

2004- 25 TD's, 16 Int's

2003- 22 TD's, 25 Int's

2002- 14 TD's, 6 Int's

Once again you don't have to TRY and insult people for your lack of knowledge and/or because your life sucks. Just because he has had more Int's than TD's in the past three years does not make or break him. He would be an upgrade right now over Clausen and it would also provide Clausen a tutor and teacher so to speak from a guy that tends to play just like him. Bulger takes his shots which is why he has so many Int's however he also ranks right up there in TD's as those past three season's you mentioned were not even from a full season but taken straight from his season's as a back up. You can't have it both way buddy. You have to give and take as you please and at this point Bulger is the best option. On top of that I combined the 2002 and 2003 seasons and accidently mis counted by one. Please excuse my minut error. On top of that his TD to Int ratio is 126 to 98 and I think I could live with that for a season. So I suggest you get your head out of your ass and realize what we were working with last season.

Stick to picking up garbage from people that are superior than you because that's what your best at.
