Didn't you just say the other day that what's wrong with our society is that we look up to football players and not soldiers? Obviously we have different life perspectives, but I don't really care what children think of my team's QB.

Also, what is this "history of terrible and criminal decision making" you're referring to? He got in minor trouble for buying a stolen laptop in college, not raping orphans and setting up Ponzi schemes for Japanese tsunami victims.

I never said you can only look up to one person or one group of people. I haven't seen Beason publicly whine about the lock out, nor do I have a problem with idolizing athletes, but it always needs some perspective.

His history contains cheating, buying stolen property, throwing it out the window when caught, reportedly stole from teammates lockers and had 12 traffic citations in a span of two years. Each individually could be written off as college idiocy, a mistake or whatever- but what's listed above shows a pattern of behavior.

He's not someone I feel could be trusted as the face of the franchise...or with tens of millions of dollars in the bank and still do what he needs to do to be successful in the NFL.

Once he said "I want to be an entertainer" - my opinion of him as an NFL QB dropped significantly.

I'm torn on this honestly, if it wasn't for the rest of his baggage it probably wouldn't bother me at all, but lumped in to everything else it looks bad.

Fair enough. I personally think it's being made into a much bigger deal than it really is. Even when read in succession, none of those things really sound that bad to me either individually or as a whole.

I wouldn't worry too much. $200K goes a long way in Alabama, and he handled that with aplomb.

Whether we're drafting Cam or Blaine or Dareus it's obviously in the best interest of our team. I love this team and i'd like them to do well, but the fans are ignorant.
