Jim Harbaugh on Cam Newton

I fully expect you to get behind Gabbert as the #1 pick and stop this nonsense with Cam. Of course I will be there to tell you why he won't or shouldn't be the #1 pick and then one day you will open your little eyes and realize we aren't taking any of these mediocre QBs

Well we still have 5 weeks to fight over it. post-7165-133194782178_thumb.gif

flacco played more than one year at the D1 level, albeit FCS. There is a gigantic difference between JUCO and FCS.

plus nobody took Flacco #1 overall.

people keep bringing up these mid first rounders and going, "See, we should take Cam!" that's fine... if we were mid first round I might even agree.

so because we have the number one you're totally against drafting Cam, but if we had a mid first you might take him. It's you do or don't. 1st rounder is a 1st rounder. It sounds like you might have a problem paying him #1 money because there's no other difference once you pick in that round you have to wait until the next. If you're gonna pick a QB you do it when your number's called and if you're #1 guess what-pick the QB

There is nothing to fight over. It's fact.

Gabbert is better than Cam at everything. More athletic, more polished, better looking, better hair, smarter, etc

You say you aren't just a Cam fan. Prove it. Get off his dick and start posting just as hard for Gabbert as you were for Cam because if you want a QB then Gabbert is what is best for this franchise, and if you are a Panther fan and not some Cam fan like most everyone else (even though we know you are) then that is what you want for this team, Gabbert, not Cam.

You can't do it

Can you point me to the proof that Gabbert is better than Cam, because I've been searching high and low?

you just lost all crediblity with say he's better looking lol. not to even speak of being more athletic. how come no one speaks on gabberts winning smile or unlimited potential?

was quoting the guy that was saying people weren't afraid of taking Flacco in the middle of the first because he didn't go to a FBS school.

you can obviously learn some things from his Blinn footage, but I would rather it have come from him playing at the same place for more than a year.

since I think some people (not saying you Teeray, understand what you are saying about Blinn film being usuable, tho I dunno how usuable it is) are confused, Blinn wasn't some desolate wasteland before Cam Newton got there. Their quarterback transferred to Utah (Terrance Cain) and he was the league MVP and first team offense QB, neither of which Cam got in 2009. Cain's numbers, passing wise, were better than Cam Newton's. This is not to diminish what Cam did because he took his team to a championship and that is what matters, I am just trying to give some perspective that this was not some terrible team he inherited.

Cam accounted for 38 TDs his year there. 22 passing and 16 rushing. Completed 60% of his passes and 2,800 yards passing and 655 yards rushing. So he did blow up the JC league as well.

Although they were a bunch of chumps like Nick Fairley down in that JC talent abyss.

I like Cam. He is the QB I like over Gabbert and Mallett. With good reason. I defend my guy.

If you love Gabbert so much fight for him yourself. MAV does a damn good job of it.

But just because I rank a QB over another and suddenly a guy named The Real Deal says its not true and backs it up with "he is better looking" ;) is not enough to change my mind over what I have seen from the two QBs to this point.

I don't have to change my mind and the proof will be in the NFL not April 28th whether I am right or not.

But to this point I have been right more than wrong.

he certainly did well but the team around him wasn't crap and it wasn't as if he came to a bad offense and revolutionized it. he just filled in pretty well for a great player before him. he did quite well there. Just saying, some people have portrayed it as him dragging this team to a championship in the past (tho not in this thread specifically I don't think), which isn't really what happened.

Blinn is a pretty big JC powerhouse I agree.

Cam had more college production than any other QB in the draft, and he has much more upside. I guess I can understand why that would scare the hell out of some people, but it doesn't scare me half as bad as the prospect of 2-3 more years of the worst QB play in the league. I seriously doubt it can get any worse than last year, even if they put Cam out there as a rookie and have him run the zone read option for half the damn game.

Defense is great, and I like having a defensive minded coach, but you can't win with the worst offense in the entire league.

When everyone thought the Panthers would get Andrew Luck, the idea of getting Cam Newton was a joke. Not even close in comparison. Now that Luck is gone all of the sudden Newton is great.

This is an indulgence. Smarter minds will prevail.

Who said he was a joke other than the haters? To me Luck was the joke shining bright in a weak conference playing against junior varsity all year. I still don't see anything amazing just another pocket QB waiting for a concussion.

p.s. the kid rather draw buildings than play football

The fact that you think that Cam is even in the same league as Luck reconfirms what all of us already knew......you are fuging crazy.

Good day.
