Jim Harbaugh on Cam Newton

And no team gambles less than the Bills so what's the point??

Every QB ever taken has been taking a chance. Peyton Manning had happy feet and played poor against better competition, Roethlisberger came from a spread offense, Rivers had a poor throwing motion, Sam Bradford had injury issues, Mark Sanchez only had one good year, no one knew how Vick's abilities would translate to the NFL, Matt Ryan turned the ball over too much, Freeman came from a spread offense and had accuracy issues, etc.

If you are waiting for a stone cold lock in the draft at QB you will never draft one.

Church!

Teeray you said most of Cam's runs were by design. Wouldn't that make him a running QB then?

Serious question, not trying to be a smartass.

Not necessarily homie... It's just means that the QB has some athleticism and a planned running play would take full advantage of his skills. Similar to how they had planned QB Draw plays for John Elway. An example of a running QB would be Josh Nesbit of Georgia Tech

This has been discussed. It was. Get over it.

You're so full of poo. There is no way in hell that the Pac 10 has stronger defenses than the SEC. Oregon cruised through that conference, and put up about 40 something points against Stanford's defense, yet they didn't even come close to scoring that many against Auburn, who didn't even have the best defense in the SEC.

Sorry I know we were all wanting another Newton thread

I thought is was a funny quote and I agree with him so figured I would throw it out here:

Of course there is some stuff in there for Cam Haters to latch onto as well so should be fun for both sides

I can't wait to see what he has to say about Andrew Luck next year..."It's like you put God on a football field and gave him a jersey with Luck 12 on the back."

This isn't my opinion, I'm going by well respected rankings.

If you are going to be dumb and talk about how teams did against each other and use that for comparison, Stanford put up 31 on Oregon's defense and the Auburn Cam's only put up 22.

It's not Luck's fault his defense didn't help him out.

And defenses is only a small portion of what goes into SOS.

I would say it's a huge part of it when you're judging a QB. But you know better, right?

No we're just talking about a statement someone made, which was false. I just pointed out that the Pac10 had the 10 toughest SOS in the country. You can debate it all you want, but I'm just going off what I've seen reported by very well respected sources.

I'm sorry you don't feel the same way.

SOS, is not an absolute thing anyway, because it's largely based on a conference's record against each other. Common sense should tell you that Andrew Luck would have had a harder time scoring on Alabama than against Washington or USC. Hell, Virginia would have beaten USC on the road, if the refs wouldn't have ripped them off, and Virginia wasn't even a very good ACC team.

Your logic is very flawed sir, but I respect your attempts to make Cam seem better than Luck.

I'm not getting into this argument again because it's been discussed plenty. I don't know how you can argue against it when I have actual backup and you have some random opinion which is biased to begin with.
