Vikings may be looking to trade up

Back to 12 being awful or great would depend heavily on what we got in return.

And he's not alone in the belief that this draft has no franchise QBs. There are both fans and professionals who are of that belief.

Just as well as many believe there is no Suh in this class. While i think this is a deep pool for DT i'm not so sure there is one worth the top spot.

LOL The section is called 'Truth and Rumors'.

The truth is that the Vikes had dinner with Gabbert, but there is nothing there that says the Vikings themselves want to trade up. That's the rumor part, pure speculation made by the writer. More non-news.

Suffering through a 2-14 season to not even get a top ten prospect just sounds dismal to me.

If it were a logical, normal trade I'd agree...

But if the Vikes started smoking that lutefisk like they were in '90...

Cowboys gave up:

Herschel Walker

Dallas's 3rd round pick - 1990

San Diego's 5th round pick - 1990

Dallas's 10th round pick - 1990

Vikings gave up:

# LB Jesse Solomon

# LB David Howard

# CB Issiac Holt

# RB Darrin Nelson (traded to San Diego after he refused to report to Dallas)

Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1990 (21) (traded this pick along with pick (81) for pick (17) from Pittsburgh to draft Emmitt Smith)

Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1990 (47) (Alexander Wright)

Minnesota's 6th round pick in 1990 (158) (traded to New Orleans, who drafted James Williams)

Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (12) (Alvin Harper)

Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (38) (Dixon Edwards)

Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (37) (Darren Woodson)

Minnesota's 3rd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (71) (traded to New England, who drafted Kevin Turner)

Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1993 (conditional) - (13) (traded to Philadelphia Eagles, and then to the Houston Oilers, who drafted Brad Hopkins)

I'd take that deal in a second and not wear pants for a month.

You gotta wonder what they'll be willing to trade too. I'm not sure a new CBA will get done before the draft, they don't really have a lot of time left. I think it's more probable for them to drag it out until the next season is right on the doorstep. If a new CBA doesn't get done, no team can trade for players or future picks. This makes the probability of a trade much smaller imo. This could be the most static draft yet.

Lol yea I'd dance a fuging jig in my wife's wedding gown in the middle of downtown if we got a deal like that.

Especially without being able to trade players or next year's picks... it would have to be a Ricky Williams type deal (which I would be all for)

I know where you are coming from, but I have since (after this post) read that the CAN trade next year's picks but teams are advised "to do so at their own risk." THis was on Mort's tweet.
