Spy Software (video) - is there an App for that???

Ok, I am looking for some software that will allow my 27 inch iMac to spy on people when I am not at home. Here is my situation....

I usually leave my home on the weekends, and I have this 12 yr old kid taking care of my dog. Often, I will come home, and find weird stuff moved. I am wondering if he is going through my poo, etc...

Can I turn my desktop Mac into a motion-dectecting video capturing device? I got to believe with all these app's out there, that there is something that can help me out! I am new to the Mac world, so the lingo is not there for me...FYI

There's webcam software that does that. My older Logitech webcam had it - when it started detecting motion it would start recording. On a Mac I assume it works the same but have no evidence to support that.

Not sue if they are motion detecting but they are disguised pretty good.
