Maybe if you payed attention you would know that one, this thread is made every damn week and two, this idea is proven to be completely stupid everytime.

1. None of our lineman other than Kemo could play in it.

2. Beason would be out, Davis would be the only backer we could use.

3. Why would a coach who believes in only rushing the down lineman switch to a defense that does the opposite?

Someone just make a sticky of why we won't switch to a 3-4.

I don't understand the fascination with the 3-4, it isn't as superior as people seem to believe.

Our linebackers would be awful in a 3-4. That's been their weakness is that they suck at rushing the QB. Why would we switch to a system that would require that they rush the QB? You would be ruining Beason (the best defensive player on the team) just to satisfy a whiny little bitch in Julius Peppers. Makes no sense to me.

A switch to a totally different defensive scheme would probably require at least a few years to implement properly, to get the right coaches, personnel, etc. into the fold. I don't think our defense needs a major overhaul at this point, if we can keep the core together (Pep leaving will throw a wrench into that. Will that prove fatal? Time will tell). But our defense looked to be too predictable too often during the second half of the season, if Meeks can adddress and correct that, I think we will be fine. Save the 3-4 for a total rebuilding year. It won't benefit us now..

34 is overrated, if your gonna do that why not change to a 2-4 and drop an extra def. back? long as Fox is around it'll be 4-3, and it should be thats where the Panthers thrive.
