Who are these vet QB's we can get? They don't exist. I'm sure the Rams thought they were sorted when they drafted the "safe" guy in OT Jason Smith and had Marc Bulger. Gotta get a young franchise QB.

I agree we need a franchise QB, but do we really want to throw another young QB into the fire? I want that franchise QB as much as anyone, and honestly we should all be wondering how the Panthers got in this mess. I would've started looking the moment Jake was in rehab, you remember that, calling Vinny off his couch? I hope the best for our #1 pick no matter who it is, just hate too see a young QB get the Carr treatment, that's all.

I know it's a risk but damn we have the #1 pick. I think you have to roll the dice and go for that chance.

One thing that I read that is a very good point - whether there is a rookie salary cap will have a big impact on whether we draft QB at #1. Richardson will be much more willing to give the OK to draft a QB at #1 if he doesn't have to sink $50 bucks on a gamble pick. Remember this...it's a business at the end of the day and smart business men don't gamble with that kind of money - they'll play it safer.

But with a rookie salary cap? No problemo.

I really did'nt think about the rookie salary cap situation, that make's sense. And I understand how rare(as it should be) holding the #1 pick is. It was'nt that long ago I was all for Cam, and I've posted several time's about Kaepernick. Maybe we'll get the best of both world's. When this CBA deal is done, there will be FA QB's, it would be nice to have one other than Moore and have ALL our young QB's sit behind him for a little while. But I do understand your point CApantherfan, and mattB. But we still need that stu....um....monster DT.
