Anyone know how, and whats required? I ask because I have a work desktop and laptop, and I would like for them to mirror one another with their file structure, outlook pst files, favorites, etc.

I recall hearing something in the past about a briefcase function I think, but have no clue about it.

Rep for explanation.

There are many ways of doing this.

I usually create folders on both machines that have a unique name like "1A Gen Docs."

Just copy over the whole folder as required from one machine to the other.

There are also programs we use at work called Sharepoint. When a change is made, it will let you know an ask if you want to update the current machine you are logged onto.

yes but i have to submit help tickets and all that poo. i'd rather waste that time with huddlers getting an idea before requesting things i don't have a good knowledge of.

Uh oh, might be a good time to update your resume.

The gods of IT do not like it when mere mortals go messing with their stuff......:D

Ah, I see....as long as you aren't working for a certain tire company based out of Greensboro, that's cool....otherwise I'd be pissed ;)

Beyondcompare isn't bad. You could look at something like Google docs too. Sharepoint is a lot to setup and would be wise for your IT folks to set that up centrally for all the remote users.
