Hurney, Rivera Looking like IDIOTS

How do you know what Hurney wants?

First off everything on this damn board is based off of assumption, speculation, and hearsay. As a panther fan I've learned to read as many articles as possible, listen to as many interviews as possible, and form my own opinion. With that said, if you're as big of a Panther fan as I am, and I'm guessing you are, then you know exactly what the "F" I'm talking about when I say Hurney is not ready to give up on Clausen. If not figure it out and get back with me.

Calm down little fella, don't get all butt hurt because someone pointed out that there's a difference between fact and opinion.

I agree with your point, but don't "know" what he's thinking. Who knows what input JR has had, Rivera, Chud and/or Shula.

You might want to relax a bit, else you won't last long here.

I think it's a little strong to say they look like idiots. The team was represented.

I've heard a longtime scout say that scouts in general hate when coaches get involved in the process. Reason being that coaches tend to be way more likely to fall in love with a player's workout and start pushing for that guy even though they haven't seen the whole picture (like the scouts do).

Mind you, I'm not sure Rivera is that kind of coach.

this is actually what the media made it sound like was happening with Cam Newton a bit. Well, Rivera obviously played a role in it too, but yarh.

Did he? Or did he say good things in response to tons of questions about Newton and the media ran with it?

I can see their point. You're a scout and you've been watching every second of film available on a guy, breaking down his strengths, figuring out his weaknesses, and you're ready to offer all the information you have and your recommendation on what the team should do. But then a coach watches a couple of drills at a pro day and goes "woohoo, let's get that guy, now!"

That'd likely be pretty frustrating.

Dude I'm not some little kid trolling message boards for fun, hence my signature. Nor do I plan on being ran off by a guy who think he knows more about football or the Panthers, because he has more post. So in the future try sticking to the topic and leaving your emotions out of the argument. Because we all know that's a female trait.

I don't see how you can't take Gabbert number 1 overall...it just seems to me like we cannot win with out a stable or above qb, which we just do not have right now (not to say I have lost faith in Moore).

If you are going to win against Brees, Ryan, and Freeman, you need Gabbert.

Excuse me for the double post, but like I said before, you are going against Brees, Ryan, and Freeman, the strengths of each team, qbs face off against qbs, so in order to be able to compete with an elite qb you will also need to have an elite qb. Football is kind of like chess, Brees, Ryan, and Freemans are the queens, if you go into a chess match without a queen while your opponent has one you probably are not going to win.

Now if the strength in the division was say...wr (Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Calvin Johnson), yeah, shoot for PP7, because that is what the division match up calls for.

Same thing goes for RB (Peterson, CJ2k, Foster, Charles) then you want Dareus or Fairley. It goes on and on. This division has the best qbs overall, and we need to counter it. Period.

i agree with all that. i just have a difference in opinion with Gabbert. Im more for Cam cause i think he will fit the new offensive scheme better. I like Gab and if he fits better than Cam then thats our guy

Yes, you must have a lot of experience with said confusion referenced in your sig. At no point did I claim or infer that I know more about anything. I simply said you don't "know" what Hurney is thinking, which you then confirmed in your response.

Furthermore, I'm not trying to run you off, but I am offering you some free advice from someone who's been around a while, posted more than 15k posts and has seen tough talking, thin skinned newbs get their panties in a bunch and leave.

Lastly, if I wanted you gone I'd just push a button and make you disappear, but that's not my style.

So...

Best way to stop a WR = CB

Best way to stop a RB = DT

but...

Best way to stop a QB = QB

One of these things is not like the other.
