Hurney, Rivera Looking like IDIOTS

If Hurney and Rivera want Newton despite Gabbert throwing better prettier passes, it obviously means they are not focusing on the pro days or the combine. They must be focusing on the game tape specifically the fact that Cam is a winner and gets the job done one way or the other. It actually makes sense as well. Lets face it, if being supposedly pro ready and being able to throw good passes at your pro day is the main issue, then we already have that quarterback in Clausen. But if we want a leader with great intangibles who finds a way to win despite not looking that pretty doing it, then Newton is head and shoulders above Gabbert.

It is all a matter or perspective. Guys can learn how to throw a good ball and drop back from center. it is much harder to teach leadership and develop the intangibles. Either you have it or you don't. We found that Clausen may not have it while Newton appears to.. Based on game results, Gabbert may not have it either.

Being a player, Rivera will put more into what he sees watching game tape then he will watching them play throw and catch. It will be interesting to see how he grades them.

mhs you post far too often for anyone's liking and most posters here would be happy if you Just Took A Break From Making Threads

some people can make lots of threads. we call him Mr Scott

some people are really good trolls. we call him Sam Mills Fan and King Taharqua

some people killed themselves while having a warrant served on them for animal cruelty. some people are baggage handlers at an airport in alaska

you are somewhere below all of them.

No cool taking shots at a dead guy... :frown2:

Newton's pro day was not on the same level as Matt Ryans or Sam Bradford's. However, Gabbert's was. Stop drinkin the Cam Kool-aid! :puke:

I haven't seen anyone say that gabberts proday was on bradford and ryan's level. It was a good proday,he showcased what he needed to. Althrough its been reported by sources carolina just doesn't like gabbert as much as most.

He can't throw the deep ball and thats a big element of the offense rivera is installing. Not questioning his arm strength because he "can make all the throws",but can he make "the throws"?

lol anyone on here that says they saw a missouri game this year is lying

I am an Oklahoma alum, so I watch all of their games.. I was thouroughly pissed that Gabbert beat my sooners knocking us out of our 1st place in the polls and effectively out of the National Championship race.

Gabbert was phenomenal in that game.. He completed like 30 passes and over 300 yards.. he dink and dunked us down the field the whole game. Reminded me of Tom Brady on a smaller level.

I hated Gabbert for beating my sooners at the time, but I think he has potential to be a very good QB in the NFL.. and would welcome him with open arms.

Um maybe they just know he is a over hyped QB with avg throwing power. Still that could never be.......!!!!!11!!!!1

Of course they wouldn't think that or why would they consider picking him. Unless you think they are in self destruct mode or want to fail.

Sounds like that is what you think. Try not to get upset and do something rash if we pick him. Remember suicide is never the answer.

Hurney still runs the show, regardless of regime.

That is what Richardson said. I wonder where he and Morrison sit on the Qb issue. Seems that reports have suggested that Hurney is the only one that still thinks Clausen is the man. everyone else apparently wants someone else.

Well Hurney still wants to ride it out with Clausen, so if we go QB that should let you know how much weight Hurney still carries. I personally believe this new regime will make the majority of the football decisions.

True...Hurney still has to give Rivera the tools he needs to run his playbook. They did go out and get the TE he needed. If he feels we need a QB as well then there you have it. Hurney did also say QB is #1 need
