Didn't see it posted anywhere, sorry if it is as it's rather "old" news (at least in internet terms)

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81ecced6/article/report-no-salary-cuts-during-lockout-for-panthers-employees?module=HP_headlines

"He told us the only one who had to worry about losing any money this year was him," one Panthers employee told the newspaper.

Richardson promised his employees that they'd be taken care of even if the labor stoppage extended for months, telling them he had planned on the contingency well before this offseason.

Interesting parts in bold.

But But But ESPN sed Richusenz was teh cheepz!!...

He knows that even if the lockout extends for months, it is bad business to lay off employees. The ones who can easily find jobs and are most valued are the ones who can go elsewhere and often do. The ones who are content to be laid off and collect employment and come back are often the ones who can be replaced and aren't always your strongest workers. So in the end you retain the ones you could very well lose, and lose the ones you most want to retain. So it only good business sense to keep everyone if you can knowing this will be resolved by late this summer if not sooner. Now if it were going to extend into next year, things might be different.

Sounds as if he truly cares about his employees which is a good thing.
