If you have AT&T DSL or U-Verse, you may have to cut back on your pron and gaming.

Broadband Reports was the first to learn, and has confirmed with AT&T, that the company will be implementing a new 150GB monthly usage cap for all DSL customers and a new 250 GB cap on all U-Verse users starting on May 2. From March 18 to March 31, AT&T users are going to be receiving notices informing them of the change in the company's terms of service. AT&T spokesman Seth Bloom confirmed the news to Broadband Reports after we initially contacted him last Friday concerning a leaked copy of the upcoming user notification. According to Bloom, the cap will involve overage charges. However, only users who consistently exceed the new caps will have to deal with these charges.

Wow...why anyone would still have DSL after that would just baffle me. I mean sure its cheaper and the speed you go at on their you would be hard press to hit that cap but why even put it in place? In a age where everyone wants more and faster internet it is just going to make people go and look at TWC or other internet providers that are 2-3 times faster.

In terms of usage, if you watch movies etc a typical movie is around 2-5 GB depending on if its HD and length etc. So all those netflix junkies that stream on xbox/wii/pc's are going to get pissed at them especially if they watch a lot of movies and download a lot.

problem for me is in my area only 2 companies have internet...them and comcast...I had comcast but everyday after 7pm their internet would crash on me so I have att...dunno if I use 150gb tho

That's the problem with cable providers (especially Time Warner), it is shared technology and during peak times, your Internet can get a lot slower than DSL, especially if you live in a dense neighborhood or apartment complex.

I have AT&T, but with these caps, maybe I can talk my company into paying for a business call Internet connection at my house because I do a lot of work from home (along with COD).

150GB is a lot of bandwidth to use in a month. If you Netflix all month it might be an issue?

MMOs and normal internet usage should not be affected.

The real reason for this is that it's the start of tiered internet pricing and "addons" that the industry is colluding to get to, as well as the desire to make stuff like Netflix be less commercially viable.

Because cable companies rape you if you just want internet.

I have no option other than DSL....this stinks, but I honestly don't know how much I use in a month.

Like I said earlier it's hard to measure. You have to account for uploading too. Depends on how many devices are in use. Do you have multiple computers, game consoles, your own wifi that your neighbors are probably hacking, smart phones, etc.?

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
