The drive thru worker doesn't prepare the food, and there is only a brief window of time before you actually see the car and hand them their food.

that is my biggest fear of working in a drive thru...I stick to fries and sometimes assembly. If I do go to drive-thru I will make sure to avoid KFC, Popeyes, and Mrs. Winners so this situation will likely not arise.
