Mayock's top prospects at each position

I know we wont and probably shouldnt pick up a WR early in the draft, but after watching Maclin here in Missouri for a few years.....This could really help our WR crew and be a hell of a ST return man. Dont hate too much on me.

There would be no reason to hate on you, we aren't exactly stacked at the WR position. Plus what you said was very valid, PLUS this year is excellent for WR in the draft(on paper of course).

I would not hate or mind if we could or did take one of those badass WR's.

I'm starting to wonder about Mayock, since he claimed that Jonathon Stewart had no burst last year.

Thanks for the post though.

was he really that far off???

most of stewarts gains came from pounding guys and running through their pathetic tackles, and he didn't really mean no burst, he just didn't have an "overdrive" or whatever you want to call it

his big chance during the packers game was foiled by cramps, another time he had a chance but slipped, almost every single time he has gotten into the open field he is usually caught soon after(which sometimes isn't a problem because he just runs over the guy anyway).

i think it was during the vikings game that stewart had an 80 yard return that was called back on a penalty, one thing i noticed is that he after he cut up field he kept the same pace, it was a great return, but it made it pretty clear that stewart can't really turn on the jets like some backs can

I'm not saying he never will be able to sometimes guys can get faster with conditioning, but I don't see any holes in Mayock's obervations.

We would need a top 15 pick most likely

stewart has burst, he just doesn't bother to use it.

go back to his first touchdown against the redskins in preseason. if that's not burst, then there's no such thing.

stewart's problem is he doesn't try to avoid contact, and he still isn't use to the speed of the game.

He pretty much nailed how the RBs were picked. He also at one point said he would be higher on his list except for the toe surgery that had yet to be performed.

In searching for some of the stuff he said about Stewart, I found this little tidbit I'd forgotten from his rankings at one point last year:

Interior Offensive Line

1. Branden Albert - Virginia

2. Chilo Rachal - USC

3. Roy Schuening - Oregon St.

4. Mike Pollak - Arizona State

5. Mackenzy Bernadeau - Bentley College

agreed. anyone saying Stewart doesn't have burst isn't paying attention. Dude has a lot of speed, include his size, he will be scary.

Maybe it is or isn't his burst, but he certainly could hit the hole harder.

At least on a more consistent basis, but he WAS a rookie. Just some times he would stutter step or 'piddle paddle' before making the decision on where he wanted to go.

The times he did fire through the hole it was dynamite though.

I think Bernadeau is gonna get quite a bit more playing time this year and I look for him to take over the rg spot either late in the year or next year.

    • Kraven has awful shitty comic book movie vibes all over it. It's just more of whatever studio owns the rights to the Spiderman set, but no longer actually has Spiderman anymore. Wicked is probably no more enjoyable. 3 hour long musicals are tough to endure.
    • One of those guys who throws a pass that makes you yell "OMG" then immediately follows it with one that makes you go "WTF" 😳 Essentially the Brett Favre prototype...
    • The Giants games are an interesting comparison for sure. We could compare the Chiefs vs the Bucs as well, since at least both teams are largely the same as they are now, rather than the Giants whose coach lost his mind after losing to us. 30-24 KC in overtime. Hunt had 106 yards and Mahomes had 291. Baker threw for 200 yards, but 2 TDs. Their leading rusher had 25 yards or something. Our offense outperformed what the Bucs did vs KC, but being a division game we won't have the benefit of being overlooked. If our D plays how it did in the 4th quarter I think we can get some stops.  Can Bryce carry a second game? I'd rather not find out and have Chuba carry the load, but we'll see.
