NFLPA Said --VS--NFL/Owners Said

Just reading these two statements if proof enough in my eyes that the players had no intention of getting a deal done. The owners statement focused on what concessions they had made.

All the nflpa statement did was complain about what they didn't get. Where is the part where they were willing to meet halfway. Where were their comcessions? What did they offer? Did they provide a counter offer.

This is all about D- Smith trying to prove he is the bad boy on the block and he wants a BIG win in his first CBA. He is a dick and his arrogance is unbelievable.

End rant

Actually the Mara family didn't make Forbe's cut of richest owners...

Seahawks ---- Paul Allen --------- 13.5b

Buccaneers -- Malcolm Glazer --- 2.6b

Rams --------- Stanley Kroenke --- 2.6b

Cowboys ----- Jerry Jones -------- 2b

Patriots ------ Robert Kraft ------- 1.5b

Ravens ------- Steve Bisciotti ---- 1.5b

Texans ------- Robert McNair ----- 1.4b

Colts --------- Jim Irsay ---------- 1.4b

Falcons ------ Arthur Blank ------ 1.3b

Chargers ----- Alex Spanos ------- 1.1b

Redskins ----- Dan Snyder -------- 1.1b

Titans ------- Bud Adams --------- 1.1b

Eagles ------- Jeff Lurie ---------- 1b

Saints ------- Tom Benson ------ 1b

Looks like now we know why JR wants to get this done ASAP

Glazer got rich screwing over Manchester United. Paul Allen got rich screwing over the world.

lol not only are you wrong you're just making up numbers to support some weird hatred of players who wont take a pay cut just because they're asked to

The players have $0 invested in this league. I find ot really hard to feel sorry for guys when I see what cars they are pulling into the stadium in.

I am generally a proponent of unions but they are designed to make sure workers aren't treated unfairly and that is a good thing. But in this case you have millionares worried about not getting enough. Again if they paid for their own teams or had any type of investment that the owners did I would be more sympathetic.

The owners made an offer to show the pertinent documentation to a mutually agreeable third party. Now good enough for the NFLPA.

So give me a fugging break on the "they wouldn't open the books" bullpoo. That whole request was a smoke screen to get them to litigation where they think they can get more money.

I have lost respect for both sides. Oh so you loses a mill but you still keep 8 billion. God you poor soul. This is why rich people should not be allowed to bargain. They are the cheapest people you will ever meet.

Trust me I know I work in a restaurant and see there tips, Or lack there of.

How is this an 'lol'? The players didn't buy a team, they don't own stock in a team, all they do is work for the team..

They've invest 20 years of their lives to becoming an NFL player, not to mention the physical damage their bodies endure playing in the league for an average of 3.5 years.....all the owners did was lay down some cash and buy a team....who really made the investment?

If you know "A" NFL player who has retired, ask them what physical problems they have from playing in the NFL. I know several and not one of them doesn't suffer from some lingering injury and by suffer I mean it limits their physical abilities.

The unions response was very generic compared to the NFLs and seemed to directly contridict the League's response. Someone is lying and I have a feeling it's both.

My prediction is when all the facts come to light is:

-The League isn't in bad shape financially, they want to get back compensation for such a bad deal (for them) in 2006. SOME clubs may be losing money, but the league as a whole is fine.

-The union wanted to go to the courts from the word go and this whole charade was just a PR move to make it 'seem' as if the NFLPA was trying to work things out. The owners did give concessions and the union pushed them all aside to keep the cherry deal brokered in '06.

I called the psychic hotline and they told me so! :)

all done by Free Choice they choose this career path, nobody held a gun to their head and said, 'thou shalt be a football player, now bend over"

They are trying to use coercion against ownership, infringing on their private property rights, into a deal they do not think is economically feasible.

Career choice. Nobody forced them to become pro athletes.

    • I mean it's not even like this was his worst game of the season... I'm not done with him by any means but this feels more the norm for him than the exception:/
    • I'd give it a C mainly because of Brooks.  If we just didn't have a 2nd I'd argue B to B+ tbh. Brooks was a bad gamble, tho one that could still pay off long term. Yes XL only has 400 yards but... Look who is throwing him the ball. And I think he isn't a "true #1" but he's been able to consistently get open. Hands definitely need to be cleaned up.  But he should end the year with 500-600 yards. Like you said - Sanders looks great.  Get him a better QB / more time with a QB and I think he's gonna impress. We added a couple rotational players on D that have both made plays and show promise for the future from later rounds. So I'd say, Brooks really hurts this drafts grade. It'll be interesting to see how it progresses over the next 3 years. I've overall really liked Morgan's FA acquisitions, so...
    • Oh he would absolutely flourish. It’s the panthers way. It’s no different with coaches. Sometimes they reach their expiration date, go somewhere else, and find new success.  Similarly to Burns, how long to wait for the light to finally turn on?  Market forces will demand a salary that the panthers can not responsibly match. Sliding him to guard will fit his skill set better, but he has played LT for 3 years. He will receive offers from other teams wanting to pay him LT money.  At guard, he won’t start with what they have paid Hunt and Lewis. Center then?? Dunno. Maybe? He will become a backup by default once they draft their stud LT. I doubt Dan just stands pat. That’s not his MO.  So where does this put him? Can you match what other teams will offer for a backup LT/guard? Do you dish out franchise LT $ on a guy who still needs significant improvement in pass protection. This team will be DOA in the playoffs with the very first team who has a formidable speed rusher. What if he has hit his ceiling in pass protection already and they sign him long term? It’s a big gamble either way.
