What do you expect Brees to say? De Smith you're an asshole? He have to support him even tho he disagrees with him.
not necessarily. smith may not have the players best interest at heart and may just want to show people how tough he can be. if they have a problem with how smith is handling things and his inability to find a reasonable solution after the owners compromised, then he and the other players need to speak out. it doesn't sound like he knows what smith is doing here. he needs to know just like all the rest and be able to have a say in it rather than being some blind dumb sheep with a big mole thing on the side of his face.

I think the players even brees not pleased with the outcome. But the players will always support one another cause the second they start fighting with one another there will be a good chance that union is done for good.

Isn't Brees one of the litigants who is bring an antitrust trust against the league. He is up to his eyeballs in all of what Smith is doing and already had his lawsuit filed in court on Friday. You don't think that was planned ahead.

All the player's posturing was to make sure that they were not seen as failing to try to mediate this. From everything I have read, they didn't budge one bit off their stance and intended to go to court from the beginning.

Doesn't make them right or wrong but they were not going to compromise one bit as they think they will win in the courts and they might be right.

It's because the case will likely be brought before Judge Doty... if history is any indicator, this is why the players want it taken to court. Doesn't make it any more right or wrong. D Smith is counting on the same thing

supporting De Smith is not the same thing as supporting the players. he's an outsider...not a player. they were beyond stupid for having him represent them.

they need to give the prick a boot from the job, which will most likely happen short of his being able to totally dominate the owners and get the players a deal sweeter than what they had under the old CBA.

Did anyone else hear Cowherd talking about the list De Smith sent out with tips on how the player should get by? Stuff like, 'Don't pay your friends for work you could do'. 'Don't by any expensive items'. It was like advice for a teenager. Funny that I have seen 3 players tweet this week about taking tropical vacations.

I don't think the players are unhappy with Smith at all. If it drags on to the Fall and they miss games it might change. But right now they voted him in to fight the owners and that he is doing. If the players win in court he will be the hero. At this point they are probably totally behind him and expect to win.
