Well. Proof is in the pudding. The courts will substantiate the data now and if the owners don't prove that they were indeed facing financial hardship, then the antitrust lawsuits will cripple them....I'm willing to bet the players union saw enough information to establish that they had a winning case....

Ahh.... so you admit you made some assertions. That's cool. I think we can move on.

Riddel... I don't believe I've ever responded to you before. I'm simply interested about talking about this issue with the facts we have at hand. Right now, what you're saying isn't supported by the facts.

And there's really no reason to call people names man.

If the NFLPA came out tomorrow and said "We saw the numbers and the NFL is lying", I'd be more inclined to give your take on this some consideration. But so far, everything we've heard says they were offered numbers, refused to look at them, and walked away from the table.

Whether you realize it or not....the players did the fans a favor....football will now be played once the Judge reinstates the 2010 CBA while the litigation takes place, which may take YEARS....so we will have football, while the owners and players fight it out in court....

We don't know that for certain yet. The owners COULD dissolve the league and reform under a new corporate entity with new rules of employment. This COULD fug up NFL-football for years or permanently. If the league reforms, some clubs may not come back under the new league. It's a very dark time for the game.

Riddle, please tell me you are self-employeed. If not, the next itme your review comes around and the business says that due to the ecomony raises are frozen temporarily. Be a man and tell you boss to open the books and prove a finacial burden as the reason for no wage increase.

Well. If I had a CBA and the "boss" told me there was a wage freeze, I would indeed tell him to open the books, because I'm entitled by LAW to see that my "boss" is suffer financial hardship.

You guys can go to the library and look up contract law and find all this out for yourselves, rather than argue with my Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining law text....it's up to you.

lol...You kept saying the owners would not open the books, but they offered. Hell, why not go back 50 years, the recession would look like a lone freckle on the ass of a 500 pound woman.

No they can't.

You talk out of your arse...that's why I don't want to respond to you. The Federal Government will not allow them to disolve a $9 billion dollar company and start over.....the owners are not Cowboys on the range...there are antitrust laws in place that protect everyone involved.

If I have time, I'll quote some more Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining law that explains why corporations can't just close the doors and reopen again...I don't have it in my right now....

It's pretty simple. If the data doesn't reflect a loss, then it doesn't reflect a loss. The players union has a case or they wouldn't have decertified.

By the way, the only public books to date, Green Bay's, shows a $20 million profit per year. This is a publicly owned franchise, so imagine what a private owned franchise's profits are.....the NFL is going to lose in court.

The fug they can't. All they would have to do, is reform minus a handful of of the less profitable clubs, or spin them into a minor league, and bam. We have the IFL, or WFL, or whatever acronym they want.

Hell, I've actually worked for a major Food company that did almost the exact thing when a labor union strangled their profit line.

P.S. Before you go all lawyer on me... I think you should know I work for one of the largest law firms in N.C., and can walk downstairs, right now, and pull any one of the dozens of U.S.C volumes and pull quotes from Anti-Trust law right with you.

Oh... or I could get one of my buddy's WestLaw logins from our Corporate Anti-Trust group and just download the document to my PC.

Seriously... right now... YOU are the one talking out your ass man.

Since NFL players are now non-unionized, a good bit of the "Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining" laws no longer apply.

The players may have a case and yes, they would decertify because they have a favorable judge and they know that.

Green Bay also has sellouts every game and have die-hard fan base. Clubs such as Oakland, Cleveland, Buffalo etc... maybe not so. Hell, our stadium stays only about 3/4 full most games and don't have a national following.

I'm sure clubs like Dallas or Pittsburgh do just fine.
