The lockout is going to happen today and look PATHETIC in light of Japan

I feel bad for Japan but I will not donate money unless I know exactly where it is going. Especially after all the BS with the united way. If 1/3 of the US donated $10, that would be around 1 billion to the Red Cross. Japan would not even see half of that. Red Cross is a non profit organization yet their CEO makes over 500k a year. To top it off most non profit organizations are tax exempt.

Yup, there is so much missing money for Haiti. Why isn't George Clooney and Bono following up on that? Nope we raised money, we look like we care, that's good enough.

Thousands dead in Japan and we have billionaires and millionaires fighting over how rich the other gets to be less than 24 hours later. Talk about a PR nightmare if they do decide to pull the decertification/lockout today.

By the way, if you haven't done so, text REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10 to Japanese relief efforts today.

Yea but for every thousand of children that die of hunger an entertainer gets paid 5 million dollars. It's the world in, it's relative, but not really to most.

I thought it was like 500 not thousands, not trying to take away from the meaning, just the impact. $10 donated.

Conference and NCAA tournaments are going to so overshadow the NFL lockout. Funny how the NFL thinks it's such hot poo, but no one cares right now. OSU in OT. Kansas wins by 1. UNC wins at the buzzer. Pitt loses. There's too many exciting headlines right now. NFL lockout isn't even second page news right now.

Oh I know but they may want to consider changing non profit to something more fitting. Also that is a lot of money when you are tax exempt. I mean look at how much people who run churches make. A guy where I live who has 3 churches in the area nets over 5 million a year and owns 3 homes in the area that were all well over 1 million dollars.

*ahem*

Excuse me for butting in, but you have NO idea what your talking about. Yes, there are people out there in charge of large congregations and do have wealth, but 99% of ministers are middle-class or worse.

Trust me..

i hate hypotheticals but i'm going to propose one right now:

suppose you own a business and there is no true substitute for your product in the marketplace. now suppose you have a contract with your largest customer, guaranteeing that you will get paid for your product next year even if you don't provide that product. there is no risk that you will lose this customer in the long-term. what incentive do you have to deliver that product and incur the costs associated with creating that product?
