Mayock has Locker above Newton

Recommended Posts

That's such a terrible argument

Name a superbowl QB that had 6% body fat?

Name a superbowl QB who had more than 20 rushing attempts per game in college?

It's not about winning because plenty of people have won, it's about what made you win aka tools.

I know you're flailing here, but you've got to have something better than that. It's a pretty easy comparison and an easier question.

Mayock does love him some Locker. When you watch the guy in games, it's hard not to like him - that is, until he overthrows a receiver 10 yards over his head repeatedly. I liked Locker a lot last year, but so did everyone else. I just don't know if he can get himself consistent enough to merit being ranked above all the other QBs available. Then again, they say his big issue is footwork affecting his accuracy, so maybe it's easily fixed?

If you're being serious, I'd like to know what ******* games are you watching?

Last years. I didn't see him much this year. But, again, I think I'm referring more to the excitement factor he presents. Big arm, gamebreaking runs, but then that is tempered by being a sub 60% passer.

I don't know Favre. The easiest way to answer is to say Cutler had an awful record in college 11-35. Freeman had a losing record in college.

Everyone else was pretty damn good.

yeah? perhaps they played at colleges, which would win anyway...or let's take it the other way around: usually the best football programs get the best players.

additionally, even locker managed to look good in the passing drills at the combine...i dont get how the people could forget about this.

Please re-read earlier posts.

supposedly Locker had an abnormally high number of dropped passes. So many that if you account for them, his completion percentage is over 60%. I have a hard time believing that but hey, it's what someone said around senior week.

There is no way he had that many dropped passes for 3 years in a row. Anyway, he was never very accurate when I watched him.

I find this whole thing kind of amusing. A lot of Newton supporters have respected Mayock's opinions, even yesterday someone said that Newton is now on the "same level" as Gabbert according to Mayock (which he had absolutely no proof of that). I've had quotes time and time again from Mayock about Newton, but when Newton didn't impress, his stock fell, and all the sudden Mayock is a "bad guy". When Locker is above Newton, then you know somethings fishy, and no, that's not sea food.

PS: He's not the only analyst that feels this way, a few others had Newton not even in the top 10 (as of today).

Let me just save you the time and tell you that Locker sucked in the vast majority of his games this year. Go look at his numbers. He barely completed 50% of his passes and got pummeled by any defense that was worth a damn.
