Mayock has Locker above Newton

I was watching NFL network this mornin and Mayock had his QB'S ranked:

1. Gabbert

2. Locker

3. Newton

4. Mallet

5. Ponder

thats funny because,most people even detractors of cam have mallet and ponder ahead of locker.

All 5 of those QBs are very raw and each have a chance of becoming good NFL QBs.

Wasn't Locker the Andrew Luck last year? Can't miss prospect/Number one draft pick, etc. that apparently broke a few hearts when he decided to finish his degree?

I also am not sure he has updated it in a while. But it may be because he doesn't think it needs updating.

Yeah except he's not that good, played terribly against good defenses and average at best against mediocre competiton, is less athletic than Newton, and led his team to their best record of his stint there at 7-6 and bowl eligible only because USC was on probation and couldn't take their spot.

If this were truly based on how good someone is now and how ready they are for the NFL, this would be similar to the order in which they would be selected--in the second round.

Two months ago, there were arguably no QBs worth a first round grade. I recently read as many as 6 could go in the first round. That is nearly 20% of the picks. Gabbert, Newton, Locker, Mallett, Kaepernick, Ponder, and I think Dalton, going from memory. I guess they are like gas prices--inflated prices but you have to pay it sooner or later.
