Lombardi: Clausen worse in practice than in games

Michael Lombardi was on Rich Eisen's podcast and he had some interesting things to say about Jimmy. Mainly that as bad as he was in games he was even worse in practice and that was a big reason Fox wouldn't name a starter until late in the week. Charles Davis is on it also and he says when was covering the team for Fox he heard from a lot of people that Jimmy "didn't get it" and that he wasn't a guy that would rally the offensive line.

They talk about the Panthers and the number one pick around 23 minutes in. They also talk about why we need to take a QB. Well worth a listen.

Wonder how many practices Lombardi actually attended, or is he a homer pigeon for rumors?

It's no rumor, I remember hearing about how he would fumble the snap along with other problems in practice and it showed in the games.

Look at my previous post. He's in the Bahamas instead of working on his game. I know everyone deserves a vacation, but not him.

I'm still waiting for Lombardi or Florio to say something nice about a Panther.

In preseason I remember him being very high on Mike Goodson, Charles Johnson, and Everette Brown. He rates John Fox very highly, if I to guess his info is probably coming from him.

Look at Moore as a rookie vs. Clausen as a rookie. Moore was an undrafted rookie who stepped in and functioned and allowed the team to competitive.

The least talented??? in 2010? Are you serious...if you breakdown the team outside of QB on offense it was more talented than the 2007 team.

Your argument was saying Clausen sucks by comparing his rookie record to Moore and Delhomme's career record with the Panthers. That is not a logical comparison.

When I say least talented I mean in the respect of team performence, not on idividual talent comparison. I think its safe to say that this team would not have gone 8-8 (like the 07 team) with Moore or any ordinary Qb.

What confuses me, is that Fox never hesitated to name Clausen the starter. Ever.

Well if you read the the Op article, it does mention Fox wouldnt name the starter till the very end of the week directly because of Clausen's lack of performance in practise. Of course thats unconfirmed specualtion.
