Predictions on 09

Jake has been pretty consistent in terms of yards/INT's/QB rating throughout his career. I don't see him having a huge bounce-back year, although I do see him being a bit more solid, and passing for just a couple hundred extra yards than normal.

I see him at about 3400/3500 yards, 23 TD/14 INT with a QB rating of about 88 (so that would be about 250 completions out of around 430 attempts)

Smith will not get 2,000 receiving yards. I don't even know why he thinks he can. He is an electrifying receiver, but if Jerry Rice and Randy Moss can't do it (especially when they are both record holders), I don't see how Smith can get almost 500 more yards in a season than his career high. I could see him getting around 1800 if the season just went nearly perfect for the offense (or he had Kurt Warner throwing to him, haha).

My one prediction is that (although not a crazy prediction) someone on the D will step up and wow us, just like Beason did the past two years. I think a new starter in Peppers place will put up nice sack numbers.

Although I still don't really see it happening, I'd love to see San Fran win the NFC West and rise to prominence again (I was born in San Francisco and grew up only about 20 minutes from the city, so I've always followed the niners, even when I moved to Charlotte over 15 years ago). I really think Alex Smith can be a career QB. He hasn't had enough consistency to prove he can lead a team. If he doesn't say with the niners, I hope he finds a starting position somewhere else. The guy is good.

Theres no way. Although I still like Stewart a little more than Williams, Williams is still the slotted #1 RB. Unless he is injured, they'll keep Stewart at bay. At most, we'll be seeing a 60/40 split

regardless of how it happens...in 2009, stewart will have more rushing yards than williams when everything is said and done.

I've been waiting for a good thread for my 2nd post, and this will do.

Dwill gets 1,600yds & 10tds Stew gets 825yds & 15tds. Jake gets benched halfway through the season Matt comes in and goes Brady all over everyone's asses! ;) I also think CJ will have more than 10 sacks. Beason will have 120tkls 2sacks 3ints 4ff. Jeff Otah will make the pro bowl. I don't see Smitty getting 2k+ yards with two healthy backs, I'd say 1,700 at the most and 16tds. Oh, and I'd love to see Thomas Davis have a breakout Spoon-esque season. Not holding my breath though. Team - 11th ranked offense 7th ranked D. Record 10-6, wild card. JD : 3-4. MM : 8-2
