Predictions on 09

Anyone who predicts a Cowboy playoff win has to be a Cowboys fan. I don't care Troy, Emmitt and Irwin came back in their prime, I wouldn't predict such a thing.

In all honesty, I don't see them making the playoffs and Phillips will get canned during the middle of the season.

Arizona will not make the playoffs. 49ers will win that division.

The east will be won by Philly. The Giants will have a down year but will still make the playoffs as a wild card.

As of right now I would not even try to predict the north but say I don't think the Lions will win the division. Green Bay, Minnesota and Chicago are all in the running. If Minnesota or Chicago end up getting Garcia then that would greatly increase their chances. I don't really like Garcia and I don't think he is a QB that can win your team a Super Bowl but he does have the ability to get your team to the playoffs.

Atlanta and Carolina are in the same boat next year, really good offenses with very questionable defenses. The division title will come down to these two teams with the other getting the wild card.

I'm not going to predict the AFC but as for players; Williams goes over 1500 yards but Stewart get the most TDs on the team. Smith also goes over 2000 yards. Jake has a much better year but will still have those one or two games that will have everyone on the huddle screaming for Fox to start Matt Moore. Beason will again be a leader in tackles in the NFL, Gamble has a strong year with 5+ INTs. The surprise on defense will come from Charles Johnson who get 13 sacks for the season.

Okay instead of reading/thinking about Peppers/Gross I thought I would make a predicition thread for next year. I know people are thinking why is this guy making predictions of the 09 season and were only half-way through February but its just to take our minds off of pep/gross, cuts and etc.

Here we go:

1. DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart will both have fewer yards and both will average fewer yards per carry than they did this year.

2. The offense will be more balanced as Jake will bounce back with a 3500+ yard campaign along with 20+ touchdowns. His INT's will still be in double figures though.

3. Jake will have 4 4th Quarter combacks

4. The Defense will have 3 INT's returned for touchdowns.

5. John Fox will guide the team to back-to-back playoff seasons, first time in his tenure. The Panthers will finish 7-1 at home, but struggle on the road, going 3-5 leading to a 10-6 record and the 5th seed in the NFL playoffs. The saints will win the Division.

6. The Falcons, Ravens and Dolphins will NOT make the playoffs

7. Detroit will win at least 4 games.

8. The Cowboys will win a playoff game.

9. Playoff teams next year:

NFC: Cowboys, Gaints, Vikings, Seahawks, Saints, Panthers.

AFC: Patriots, Colts, Texans, Steelers, Chargers, Titians

Just some predictions on what I think will happen in the NFL next year. Needed to do something to take my mind off of the offseason. Feel free to post some of your own.

1. I think Stewart will have more yards than this past season.

5. With our schedule and Fox becoming the most conservative coach in the NFL.....8-8 will be impressive if he pulls that off.

I am not a Cowboys fan, I didnt think they would make the playoffs this year because of the pressure. It reminded me of the Panthers year when SI predicted Carolina to win the super bowl and we failed to make the playoffs. I think they will fly under the radar and win the division. Its kinda hard to fly under the radar with all the Cowboys drama though.

I repeat though I am not a Cowboys fan

Next years schedule is tough basing on this years teams preformance but some of those teams will have down years next year. It seems like the panthers play up to their competition against the better teams in the league (Chargers, Gaints, Tampa Bay MNF) and down to not so good teams ( Detriot, Oakland). Plus the Steelers had the toughest schedule this year and look what happen.....

Im thinking the Panthers D will be top 5 this year, Peppers will break his leg in his 2nd or 3rd game for his new team. Delhomme will do decent, nothing impressive and Double Trouble will have a simialar year, Panthers will get into playoffs as a wildcard and lose in the conference champ.

OFF MVP- Matt Ryan

DEF MVP- DeMarcus Ware

Delhomme will bounce back. DWill and Stewart continue to tear it up. Smith stays dominant and we finally see Jarrett emerge as a legitimate threat with time at #2 and #3.

Jake finally spreads the ball around, utilizing the underutilized threats of years past ( Rosario, Jarrett). Moore gets significant playing time with the starters at some point in the season does well.

Defensively Charles Johnson and Thomas Davis step up big this year. Godfrey has about the same campaign as last year and Harris gets back to forcing fumbles.
