Top 10 NFL Elusive QBs

I guarantee you that every one of those QB's fumbled more in the pocket than they did on the run. QB's tend to take a lot of hits in the pocket that they don't see coming, and many times that happens while they have the ball in one hand and preparing to throw. It happens to every single one of them, whether they are athletic or not. That's just a part of playing the position, and that's why good LT's, who can minimize those blind side hits, get paid the big bucks.

Pop Quiz: Out of those ten, how many have Super Bowl rings?

And for the record, having a mobile/elusive quarterback is a good thing only if he's also a good passer. If he's not so hot in the pass department, all the running ability in the world doesn't mean squat. It might get you some nice highlight reels on ESPN, but it won't get you championships.

But a team is going to give up multiple picks to trade up for a guy who sucks as bad as Cam huh??

Did someone loop Rodgers and KORDELL STEWART in the same group?? please tell me that didn't happen.

Rodgers is a top notch QB that is mobile. Kordell Stewart was a below average QB that can run fast.

Rodgers is a lot more accurate than Vick. Deep ball is about the same, Vick is faster. Whos the better QB, Rodgers of course.

I didn't look at the link yet. But I seem to remember Elway, Young, Roehtlisberger (I know scrambler v. runner but he uses his mobility to extend plays so I include him) and now Aaron Rodgers have all won Superbowls.

That is 6 superbowl rings. Trying to figure out the point of this argument.

and the giants would not have won that super bowl if it wasnt for that elusive play that eli manning made.its not about standing big in the pocket anymore. it's about moving around in that pocket, and making somebody miss when you have too. to keep the play from dying.

What is missed in this discussion are those guys like Rodgers who can do both, run and pass. Sure he doesn't run 10 times a game but he provides a run threat which can extend plays and pick up first downs when the pocket collapses. Even Vick has gone from a running quarterback to a mobile quarterback with much better ouch of his passes.

What is great about Cam is that he was a very accurate passer in college completing 66% of his passes and is working hard to become a better pocket passer. He is really the modern version of Randall Cunningham. Cunningham was not a great passer early in his career but by the end completed 60% of his passes. He threw for 30,000 yards and ran for 5000 more. Had a total of 242 TDs versus 134 Ints. Oh and out of 775 rushing attempts he fumbled 45 times and lost 20.

Vick for example came out of college completing 54% of his passes and for his pro career is a 55% passer. Although in 2010 he averaged a career high of 62%. But he was always a running quarterback not a mobile quarterback. Newton can be both. He can run when he needs to and buy time within the pocket while looking downfield for an option. He is really the best of both worlds which is why he isn't easily dismissed as simply a running QB or someone who can't throw. I consider him a Vince Young upgrade because he isn't a head case.

We play "***" football on the beach during with some of my son's highschool football team. I normally play Qb and found that I prefer to stay in the pocket rather than run, but if I'm forced to run I do it well.....does this make me a pocket passer or an elusive QB or just an idiot playing "***" football.

Man you guys really do stretch for discussions on here....lol
