Several teams at top of draft seem interested in Cam

A first round QB is better than what we have in JC or MM. While neither of them are Payton Manning or Tom Brady being without a 1rd talent at QB over ten years now (don't say David Carr)I'd take Big Ben anyday.

No college player is automatically better than an NFL player based on where they are drafted. Especially in a weak-ass draft like this one.

I have a feeling Fairley could drop to like 15-25 considering not only the depth at DT, but the fellow 1st round competition.

I was saying that in response to the blanket statement that, a first round qb is better than JC and MM.

If Hurney did say that then I would expect us to draft one of them. That is of course assuming he feels the same way in regards to Moore.

I don't know that he meant they were better now or if he just meant that had higher ceilings or what.

What was said was that various teams, not just ours, would have placed Clausen as the third best QB in this draft if he was in it

I know that 99% of the guys on this board that want a QB are sold on Cam but I'm not on of them. As I stated in my previous post; im not sold on any qb in this draft. In fact i have more doubts about Cam and Gabby than Kaepernick (however you spell it) But that is what our FO is for. I just think QB is our biggest need and is also the biggest impact position in football. When you add those two things to the fact that we currently control our own destiny with the first pick you have to try.

We could trade down and pick safe and be happy to go .500 for the next several decades and obviously some people are happy with that.....(you know who you are.) But I don't accept mediocrity from myself, why should I accept it from my football team. (this last paragraph wasn't a response to Mr. Scott just the continuation of my thought process)

Not taking a QB in the draft doesn't equate to not addressing the QB spot.

My preferred strategy this season is to pick up a vet. We need more experience, not more youth.

Trading for Palmer is probably the best case scenario, though not necessarily the most likely to happen.

I'm in the vet camp as well. If we get some DTs and the O-line stays healthy we can support a rookie QB and even make the playoffs if he plays as well as Bradford, Flacco, or Ryan. But that is unlikely.

What is a Cam hater? I havent really seen anyone say he sucks, that would be hating in my opinion, whats yours? Ive seen a few, like myself, rather pick someone else at #1, but I wont be disappointed if thats our pick. Why would, in this draft especially, everyone agree that there is a number one overall consensus player, when you have 20 mock drafts with 12 different players rated #1. I believe there are about 8 guys that are worthy of #1 in this draft, Cam one of them.

Thanks, it just seems the "Cam Lovers" think that everyone should see he is the best player for this team or they are haters. Like they cant understand why everyone else doesnt see what they see. I see Jason Campbell with speed and running moves. Is that bad? Not really.
