Justin Tuck on Cam Newton

I agree. But when it does happen he is a guy that is built to withstand it better than, say Peyton Manning.

Nobody want him running 15 times a game. But when he does run he is bigger than Jonathan Stewart. I mean he is still a football player. He will be able to absorb some hits. As he gets better and more comfortable with the NFL, he will hopefully take less and less hits.

But I am not worried about this guy being as delicate flower.

Definitely true...I was just riffing off the same subject. I still think NFL QB's must be protected and sheltered from the tough hits, no matter how well the might stand up to it. It's simply too risky.

for the love of god people, he didnt say that they weren't any good, he said that they dont last. There is a difference. Yes, Vick "abused" the giants, but that was ONE GAME. he is saying that they dont age well, are injury prone, and are out of the league faster than you can blink an eye.

Mobile QBs have never been "banned". Heck, the original game didn't even feature the forward pass (the AFL is responsible for that innovation). And you had guys like Fran Tarkenton running around even back when I was a kid.

Liar. Mobile QBs are the wave of the future! It's the way the game is moving! Catch up with the times!

...The first time I heard that, one announcer was marvelling over Kordell Stewart. He was very impressed and said Kordell Stewart was the wave of the future, and he'd bring about all this huge change in the NFL game. Then, the other announcer was like, "What does that make Randall Cunningham, exactly?"

I always laugh at announcers who act like mobile quarterbacks are something new. Guess these guys never watched Staubach, Tarkenton or Elway

Lots of guys have suggested that QBs who are primarily runners more than passers would one day "change the game", but it hasn't happened, and I see no evidence that it's going to anytime soon. Those guys may make for nice highlight reels, but unless you can pass first, being even the greatest runner just won't get you where you want to go.

He may weigh more than JStew but he is also 8 inches taller. 5'10" 235lbs > 6'6" 250lbs

People fail to see this. When I think of "bigger" I think of more muscle mass. Cam outweighing someone by ten pounds but being seven inches taller than them isn't bigger in my mind.
