Newton’s pro day shows why he shoulf be No 1

I hate the scripted Pro Days. They have worked for weeks with the same receivers on the same routes. As one analyst said....if you can't shine at your Pro Day, you have no business being in the NFL.

I don't understand why this bothers people. It's not like the Panthers are gonna throw out a new group of WR's every other game to make it harder on their QB's , so what the hell is wrong with a QB throwing to WR's he's used to, or throwing the same routes he's been practicing every day? That's what they will all be doing when they get to a team.

"Proudiddy vs. Mr. Scott" the novel

Neither of you are dumbasses, not one person on this message board knows who our pick is going to be. The best we can do is evaluate all these articles with a grain of salt, because in the scheme of things... no one knows until draft day.

I was really upset last year when we drafted Jimmy Clausen, I was sitting at home with some friends bashing how ugly and worthless he is... then we drafted him. But you know what? My team, the Carolina Panthers, chose to make that decision and as a fan... I have to trust they know what they're doing.

But fugggg is Clausen ugly

This is all out of our hands, and to sit here and bicker about it is silly.

Ultimately, this is what it boils down to.

And agreed, Clausen has to be one of the ugliest humanoids in the history of the world, which correlated nicely with his on-field performance.

Ah, this time the induction fallacy! Try to attack my argument here based off of a hyperbole of a statement in another thread and apply that one post to all of my posts. And please apply all of what you said about my posts to your own posts in this thread... I'm not the one that got "emotional" or "sensitive" about posts. You used inflammatory words in a post responding back to me because I insulted the credibility of your sources trashing Cam. Quite honestly, I don't gave a sh*t about Billick, Cam, Trudeau or anyone else regarding Cam and where he gets drafted. I have no personal interest beside wanting to see my team win, so whoever does that gets my vote. I just happen to believe that QB is the position that gives us the best opportunity to improve, and I've said that may Gabbert as well --- But again, keep painting your "Cam Fans against the world" portrait, maybe we'll all conform one day.

This whole back-and-forth started because you insulted me, called me or what I posted "stupid," "ignorant," and "dumbass stuff," even if you edited it, you made it clear that this is a sore subject for you. So, you might wanna check yourself and gauge your own emotions before you try to lump people in groups that are easier for you to keep seeing the world as black and white in.

And if you actually read Zod's thread, then you would know he acknowledged that MOST people, if not all, DO have actual covert biases. This is what I'm talking about with Billick, and again, I never said anything about race being one of his issues. That's why I said that was the greatest post on the Huddle, because he acknowledged what you exemplify but won't acknowledge yourself. I didn't insinuate anything about your stance on Cam. I didn't infer it. Anyone can look at all of your posts and see you clearly have a problem with him as a player or as a person... Whatever the case is, you don't want us to draft him but "jokingly" allowed for Gabbert. And again, keep in mind this whole argument was sparked over you rushing to the defense of people who are going out of their way to trash the Cam. If that's is their opinion fine, but I responded to those quotes because you have repeatedly gone out of your way as well to find negative things to say about him.

So let's say one of the Cam Fans gives their usual blind "Draft him #1!!!!" line. Then you come in to troll, as you have been, and google for several minutes trying to find some football guy that trashes Cam, then you post the quotes. I respond to the quotes and say these guys aren't the best evaluators of talent/QBs and that I believe one of them "hates" Cam, so I don't put a lot of weight in them. You respond by calling me names. Then try to flip it entirely on me and say my entire post was about me assuming he just doesn't like Cam. So, who's operating with some of those covert biases here? That's what makes it easy to assume you don't like him. And again, I invite you to look up what Billick has said about him, watch some videos of it, compared to like Mayock, then see if he's ever been this adamant against any other player... Good luck. Just keep avoiding the parts of my posts that completely obliterate what your "argument."

Keep trying to convince everyone else how objective you are on this issue, because I see through the bullsh*t. What is hysterical is that you continue to backpedal and ignore the fact that ALL of your posts regarding Cam show beyond a doubt that you do not like him. UPDATE: YOU DON'T HAVE TO KNOW SOMEONE PERSONALLY TO NOT LIKE THEM! It may be their presence, you question their sincerity/authenticity, or you may have other motives at work. Thanks for playing.

Spend all that time denying that You're accusing people of having personal feelings about Newton, only to then turn around and accuse me of having personal feelings about Newton.

Smooth :frown2:

It's funny really. It'd sure be nice if my life were so issue-free that I could actually get emotionally invested in a quarterback debate. Reality isn't quite that simple though.

Like I said before, kid, you haven't got a clue, least of all when it comes to me :nonod:

That's what they will all be doing when they get to a team.

After his poor performance at the Combine (when all other QB's did not have the same issue), I am not willing to use his scripted and rehearsed Pro Day as evidence that his combine was an abarition.

I have stated many, many times. My issues with Newton are not the things that I have seen him do bad. They are the things that we never saw him do at Auburn....read defenses at the LOS...take snaps under center which require a QB to torun his back to the LOS and then re-engage with his receivers....go through 3 and 4 WR progressions in just seconds.

I am not even saying that he can't do these things...just that he was NEVER asked to do them in college. Thus, there is not evidence that he has this skillset.

It is a fact that he was in a one read and then run offense. When he took off, it was not to scramble and extend the play (ala Big Ben...who everyone wants to compare him to). It was to run the ball.

He was successful running the ball because he overpowered smaller players in college. If he does that consistently in the NFL, they will carry him off on a stretcher.

Again, the biggest questions about Cam CANNOT be answered with workouts and Pro Days.

The fact that he struggled with accuracy at the combine...one of the strengths he was supposed to have....only make my sketicism greater.

However if Rivera and team believe he is a franchise QB, I say take him #1. If they do, I will support and cheer for him to succeed.

 You're hilarious Mr. Scot, running out of rhetorical ammo? Where did I deny that I accused anyone of having personal feelings about Cam? I didn't ever deny that. Let me hit you with some knowledge you condescendingly dropped on another poster who disagreed with your trolling:

DO I need to say (type) it slower?

R E A D I N G. C O M P R E H E N S I O N.

I never denied accusing anyone of having biases against Cam. In fact, if you read anything I've posted in this thread since you attacked me, I have acknowledge SEVERAL times over that I did say Billick had a personal issue with Cam IMO, among other things. I also said YOU had a personal issue with him. And invited you to do some research on Billick. Did you? No. Because you know what it is.

I like how you also completely ignored all the facts behind what I'm saying. I don't have to defend myself or my views to you. I don't have to answer to you message board king. I've stated my opinion, and engaged you in this argument hoping for some intellectual justification for your vitriol regarding Cam and anyone who wouldn't mind seeing us pick him... Yet, it appears you are not capable of that.

You conveniently skip the strongest parts of my post that negate everything you have stood on in your arguments and look for subtle discrepancies to create diversion arguments that have nothing to do with the original issue. You still haven't acknowledged your personal feelings towards him. So much for "debate." Keep hating and applying broad generalizations across everything you encounter. Hey, if it worked in the pre-civil rights era, why not now?:D

Zod, pull my jersey up to the huddle rafters now...

Only because you agree with him liking Newton.

Fact is that Mr. Scot has forgotten more about football that Proudiddy or 99% of the rest of us will ever know.

How dare you ASSUME Mr. Scot knows more football than everyone else on this message board!

This sh*t is ridiculous. Man I don't give a sh*t about Cam personally, nor do I any other draftee - I don't know them, you don't know them, good. fine. great.

But, you guys are drawing lines on people that aren't even there and pushing them to one side or the other. This argument ended up not having anything to do with Cam (other than when Mr. Scot tried to derail it and turn it into a Cam Fans vs. the world argument). It has everything to do with someone littering the board with covert bigotry and then backing off of it when confronted.

I called him on his trolling and he called me a dumbass because I didn't respect the opinion of the ever so awesome Jack Trudeau and Brian Billick. You guys man... smh...

So many words, so little substance :nonod:

And don't flatter yourself, kid. You're doing way more to bolster my argument than yours. But by all means, bust out ten more paragraphs if it makes you feel better

I won't waste my time geezer. You've admitted your wrongs and your defeat in this argument through your lack of words and logic over your last few posts. You have nothing else to say because I eliminated any semblance of an argument you had. You made up things and I illustrated how you did so. You have nothing else to say. Both because you can't keep chasing your tail and you don't need to, it's old.

Little substance for someone who is on the border of dementia and has shown a proficiency for selective reading and fabricating statements in this thread. Thanks for the research on Billick. Thanks for showing how Trudeau is a relevant subject in the matter. Thanks for stating YOUR unique opinion that summed up to nothing. Thanks for kicking out the last leg you were standing on for me. Thanks for losing.

You see, the world isn't just black and white... There's a whole lot of grey. Once you figure that out, more things will make sense to you.
