With initial deadline being known for quite some time, why would they need an extra week to 'organize' for a lockout?

yea see i just dont know about that......i feel like everyone knows whats at stake here and they extended the deadline and will continue to do so as long as they are making process or a deal is done........i hope

THe NFl doesn't want this to go to court where they stand to lose bigtime. They know it and the players know it. If they decide to lockout the players they are going to lose again. They know that negotiating is their best strategy. The real issues whether the players want too settle this or whether Smith like most lawyers wants to take this to court.

As much as I love football and the Panthers, I'm really getting tired of hearing about it....the owners are not going to budge; they know football is going to be here. If the current players don't want to play then f**k 'em.... there are tons of college kids coming out that do.

Spoke off the record with a couple of players last night. Sadly, they were not optimistic that this thing will get done by Friday. It seems this week was more for getting organized for a lockout than preventing one.
