Rivera Hitting Road For Newton

If a guy who is averaging 23 tds and 11 int's that last two season isn't considered a successful QB than i am not sure what is.

I'll give you Sanchez he is still a enigma and i am not quite sure about him. But it is pretty safe to say Flacco is in the top half of the QBs in this league. i consider that a success.

I will go back to a stat I read on Sanchez (whose TE, WRs and OL are better than what we had here in 2010): 15 passes he threw in 2010 were dropped by the defense. Twice as many as any other QB.

I am not arguing that he is not decent, I think for a first rounder, he is a disappointment. He has a great defense, a solid offense. Best situtation for a young QB. His OC is pretty darn good too.

He should be an emerging star if there was ever a stage to be one. He is not. Put him under center in Cincinnati or Buffalo, and he is Clausen II. I may be wrong, but when I watch the Jets, I see average to below average.

Ummmm....To me ALL this means is it sounds like the coach is just doing his job! Why would he not take a look at ALL the top prospects?

He is. Gabbert is having a pro day tomorrow too. Rivera will be at Auburn. Maybe he sends Shula and Chud to Missouri, but I think the pressure on the pick is not based on any one player more than Newton.

From what info I have, I hope we build the defense with the first pick. Stay away from the fool's gold. I see both QBs with high-bust potential.

Any word on the other pro days Rivera will attend?

Should be easy to track. Just watch the board for threads that say "OMG we're drafting (Player X)" and you'll know what Pro Day he's at.

Pretty much.

He may suck....but he wouldn't be Clausen II b/c he simply plays the game different. Clausen's play was below the level of suckage that can be used as the standard example of poor play.

Sanchez has played 2 seasons....2 AFC Championship appearances. Bad QBs can't sleepwalk on good teams to that in back to back seasons. He has flat out won some games during those runs and showed a LOT. He just is wildly inconsitant and young.

I think as a rule, no one should be compared to Jimmy Clausen.

Yeah I agree about Sanchez. I'm not quite ready to write him off as a disappointment just yet. But your point is very well taken.

Flacco is the one that I think it is hard to say he hasn't been successful. I think he is clearly in the top half of QBs in the league. Sure fire Hall of Famer? No. But he is pretty doggone good.

32-16 as a starter.

3 years in the league. 3 post season appearances (winning at least a game every year).

Ravens under Flacco also ain't what they were years ago. D has taken steps backwards (but still a good group). Sure he ain't Manning but the kid has had a great career thus far.

Don't get me wrong, I think Flacco has been pretty good. The term successful is relative. I think he gets a lot of help from an all around really good football team, but I guess that can be said of any QB that regularly makes it to the post-season.

I get what you were implying......football is the ultimate team sport and lines are blurry. At the end of the day winning is winning in my book regardless if it ain't pretty and on a QBs back. If guys win consistantly that means something.

You also have to look at how many dropped passes his WRs had. Every time I watched the Jets, Edwards dropped at least 2 passes.

Yep. Davis really solitified the running game and made Henning look like a genius.

I moved to South Florida 5 years ago and Henning is in Miami now running his stupid draw plays and wildcat on 3rd and 8.....it's hilarious to watch a game here in South Florida...it will make you laugh. The only positive thing about a Miami game is the freaking hot latinos in bikinis all over the stands....I spend more time looking sideways and backwards than I do watching the fish.....

Too bad we can't have girls in bikinis here at BOFA....they would be escorted out by the Jerry Police or told to 'sit down' :(
