Rivera: No promises for Jimmy Clausen

Blech! We already have Norwood for the hybrid joker LB. Miller is a safe choice but wouldn't be utilized here.

I was not really being serious there. I also would see Norwood more at the Jack pos than way out there at the joker.

All valid points, but most teams aren't 2 and 14, with some of the ugliest QB play in recent history.

This team needs big changes, with attitude being right up there with talent. The QB is the leader of the team, and has to have some fire and attitude. Pardon me, but Clausen, nor Moore, nor even Palmer can give us that.

Look at the demeanor on the field of Brady or Manning or Brees when things aren't going well. Can you see your group fire up a team like that?

The game requires talent on the field, but it requires emotion as well.

Who do you see that reminds you of Brady, Manning or Brees who's realistically obtainable?

For the record, my veteran choice is to trade for Carson Palmer.

Andrew Luck.

Ah, but we see how that went.

At this point, I support drafting Cam Newton. Gabbert does nothing for me either in game performance, or the intangibles.

Maybe I'm wrong about Palmer, but I don't view him as a take-charge guy.

I trust the front office to make the right decision, but going into the season with the same group plus one stop gap doesn't seem like the recipe for success.

How sad is it when the majority are ok with mediocre talent at the Qb postion? Come on people, we were the LAST RANKED offense in the league!!! ????? Drafting a freaking LB, are you kidding? I had enough of that with Fox/Hurney taking a Dt like clockwork every year. I guess we could take Fox's approach to it and just keep ignoring that side of the ball and it will all work out, right?? Yeah, hows that worked out so far??

I understand the risk reward deal with #1 Picks and Qb's, but every year that we ignore it is another year we are behind. New Orleans/Brees, Atlanta/Ryan, TB/Freeman, Carolina/??....Not taking a chance on drafting a QB or adding one through free agency is just as bad as not taking a chance like Fox did, if we are going that route then hell, why did we even change Coaches we might as well have kept Fox.

To be fair Scot, Brady and Brees didn't look like Brady or Brees either before their drafts. :)

From the bottom of his feet to the top of his head, Cam is the real deal. I am most concerned about the few inches between his left and right ears.

As a Cam supporter I have to admit this might be the best way it has been put this entire last 6 weeks

If that's the concern then we probably shouldn't draft him.

Physicals skills only get you so far at QB in the NFL. It's been proven time and time again.

ah yes I get those terms confused thinking back to when Davis's 1st year.

;);) No prob. I had to sound smart after my last post. :D

Dont fret though we could always put Hardy the man-animal out there at Joker. :D

When you're talking about a quarterback, that actually should be the primary area of concern.
